It cooks beautifully textured rice, (fluffy, tender, cooked right through but not clumpy or mushy) which I'm sure would satisfy the most finicky rice-loving Asian. Zoom my rice photo, if you don't believe me. I have a 900 watt oven. I cooked the (washed and drained) 4 cups of rice with 5 cups water, on 50% power (450 watt) for 18 minutes then left it alone for 20 minutes before eating. Perfect!
The striking colour combo and minimalist design are gorgeous and perfectly functional - I love how the rice paddle is also the lid knob, pot handles and lid lock. Ingenious!! The compact streamlined shape doesn't take up much fridge space. Wash up is a breeze too as there are no unwieldy bits, unlike my old pot which had fiddly clip locks that broke off and were a pain to clean.
The materials and construction are sturdy and the thick walled pot kept the rice warm longer than I expected.
The instructions say to cook the rice with the black colander/strainer in the pot but I removed it and cooked my rice directly in the white pot to make a little more expansion room for the extra amount of rice I wanted to cook. It worked just fine. There was no boiling over, no spillage and no sticky residue on the lid top (see my photos)
I used the black inner strainer to wash and drain the rice, to wash vegetables and also to blanch the vegetables by dipping the strainer with the vegetables in it, into a pot of boiling water for about 2 minutes. The strainer came out of the boiling pot unscathed.
Five stars is not enough. After just one use, I'm already thinking of buying another.
If I have a gripe, it's that the nub that is also the lid knob and anchor for the rice paddle, can be difficult to grip if your fingers are wet or greasy. Still, it's a pretty tiny gripe, and one far outweighed by the pros of this wonderful pot.

I just bought another pot so I'll have a spare for my rice guzzling family. This is now my favourite kitchen thingamajig.

UPDATE June 24 2017
I just bought another pot so I'll have a spare for my rice guzzling family. This is now my favourite kitchen thingamajig.
It was easy to use starting with rinsing the rice all the way to serving. My neighbor said that she is going to buy one as well once she saw how easy it was to make a perfect batch of rice.
I use one cup of rice and 2 cups of water annd a tablespoon of salt. I cook in the microwave for exactly 17 minutes and the rice always comes out nice and fluffy and very well cooked.
Depending on the wats of your microwave, you will have to adjust your cooking time.
My one pet peeve is that the top of the cover end up with residual from the cooking process and sometimes it splatters all over the microwave but it’s an easy clean.
I read lots and lots of reviews about these microwave rice cookers and was a bit hesitant to try it. There were many negative reviews that mentioned it leaking all over the microwave and producing rice that wasn't even edible. There were also positive reviews, so I decided to give it a try.
I just used it for the first time this evening. I was running late, I'd forgotten to put rice in my cooker, so decided to unpack the microwave cooker that had been sitting in a box for many days and give it a try.
I used Jasmine rice. 1 1/2 cup of rice. The instructions said 500ml water, so I did 2 cups and a little splash. I have a 1200 W microwave. The instructions are for 800 W. So I put my microwave on power setting 7 and had it cook for 15 minutes. After that I let it stand for another 5 minutes before opening it.
When I opened the microwave, I saw nothing had leaked. Excellent! I then carefully opened the pot and it looked like real cooked rice! I fluffed it up a bit with the included paddle and put it on our dinner table. No need to get emergency rice out of our freezer! The quality of the rice was definitely not bad at all. Maybe slightly on the mushy side, so next time I might leave out the splash of water and do exactly 2 cups and maybe do 14 minutes instead of 15? I don't know yet. I might do a tiny bit of tweaking until I'm totally happy with the consistency. However, the first time trying, I got very edible rice. Oh, cleanup was easy too. So no stars to deduct for that. And I like it that you can wash the rice directly in the colander part of the cooker. So I'm going to give this cooker the full 5 stars.
