A total of 5 cables were tested and all continue to work as described. The maximum speed attained over a 10Gbe adapter and switch setup was 2.97Mpbs under average office load. Higher loads were not tested. The workstations are a mix of 8th gen and 11th gen i7 CPU with 16GB - 32 GB RAM and 540-T2 ethernet cards.

Some of our workstations were able to achieve 2.5Gbps and maintain that transfer speed utilizing a mix of 1.2GB - 5GB sized files. Larger files did not increase or decrease the transfer rates; however, a consistent transfer rate was seen with files ranging from 2.5GB - >10GB.

We are not ecstatic with the results but these xfer rates currently meet our needs.

This review is coming from PC Gamer who also owns a Nintendo Switch and PS4. I also know my way around getting the speeds that I pay for. For years I used a Cat 5e cable from my modem to my router. When I moved out of my mom’s I got Spectrum and read a lot of reviews talking about falsely advertised speeds. But when reading reviews the people writing were using 10-15 year old laptops and other hardware over WiFi.

As hardware ages the WiFi signal output is gonna diminish over time that’s for all hardware over time. Same thing with older consoles. I completely dismissed these reviews and decided to find out how to combat these reviews. So,I bought three different sets of these cords and a gigabit Switch for connecting more devices with Ethernet from my router. I used these cables from my modem to my router and separate Switch. I got my Nintendo Switch Lite running through Ethernet USB C adapter. I also got my PS4,TV,Nvidia Shield TV Pro and my PC using these cable and one left over for when I buy my PS5 this year. On my PC I noticed how my speeds were decreasing at first but I figured that it was a Ethernet driver issues and I uninstalled the driver and went from 390mbps download and 10 upload to 500MBPS down and 25 up.

I was extremely happy since I was getting better speeds than what I paid for. The speeds on the Switch Lite, and PS4 are lowered because Nintendo uses different architecture when connecting online and needs to update the Ethernet. The base PS4 speeds are bad regardless and hasn’t been really updated a lot by Sony. I have seen increased speed,less lag and faster streaming and a seamless online experience but I have not gotten speeds over 150mbps down and 10mbps up but that’s based on how to manufacturers optimize their hardware.

In conclusion, these cables are long and thin so definitely worth it for the price. A definite must buy for tech savvy people that want better streaming on their devices or a better WiFi experience

These flat CAT7 cables go where round cables can't. They easily slide behind the smallest of gaps between furniture and walls, and take up almost no space in those holes put in office furniture to run wires through (once you get the admittedly massive head of the connector through!). Most if not nearly all appliances will accept this type of Ethernet cable, even if they aren't rated to use it's increased bandwidth and speed.

For just a small uptick in price, you might as well go for CAT7 and be ready for the next generation of products that will take advantage of its enhanced abilities over CAT5, CAT5e, CAT6 etc, especially if you are installing them as permanent fixtures.

This pair was the perfect length for my needs, 2 meter, or 6.5 feet. Just enough to connect a computer right next to the modem/router. Other lengths are great to go under carpeting, or rugs, or a cord runner (those rubber speed-bump resembling things in computer labs and cubicle farms).

The 24k gold plated connectors are a nice touch, but unnecessary, as these connect digital signals. The connection therefore either works, or it doesn't. If this were 1976, and we were hooking up a sweet HI-FI stereo system; then yeah, spring for the golden connectors. Analog signals can degrade, and so the gold connectors make sense, as they will not corrode. Again, with digital, we are either getting the signal of 0's and 1's, or we aren't. There is no "degradation" of a digital signal.

What separates CAT5, CAT5e, CAT6 and CAT7 cable? Bandwidth, or the amount of data that can be transmitted over a predetermined amount of time. Beside that, according to most sources, the difference is mainly in the amount of RF shielding in the cable itself, better quality of the twisted pairs of wires which eliminates cross-talk. Shielding in the cable is different than the whole gold in the connector as the shielding actually does keep out RF signals which seep in, because any energized length of cord is essentially an antenna. Most modern systems filter this out, but why not prevent it from being introduced in the first place?

If your internet is slower than what your ISP has advertised, the Ethernet patch cable you are currently using could be one of the problems. This cable which is usually bundled along with the router or modem you have purchased is not of good quality.

This cable is expensive compared to other similar products, but the results are extremely good.
If you suspect the patch cable could be a problem, i would recommend this cable without hesitation..
