Doyle is a solid writer. Gateway of India Part 3 is well edited (with the exception of one comma that might be a matter of opinion). He has an extensive vocabulary and isn't afraid to use it, but even so, he writes with a light style that is easy to read. I'm fairly stingy with five-star ratings, but even though this isn't the genre I usually read, this definitely deserves five. Loved the scene with the stink bomb by the way, and was impressed with how it all turned out. Doyle also makes good use of his knowledge of that part of the world. I even learned a few things in the short time I spent inside this book.
