“Expertly paced...an absolute page turner….” Amazon 5-star review
In the Outlands, a family struggles to survive against the harsh winter of Vithalia and wolf-shifters that rise with each full moon. Only now, the monsters appear without moonlight, as prophecy foretold. One wolf attacks a young Viking named Arud, forcing him to leave home with his sister, Lykke, and find safekeeping with an uncle whom they've never met. Who they never knew existed.
A beautiful girl sweeps Arud off his feet.
His sister may hold the key to their people's survival.
Family secrets unravel as they race across the realm before the Wolf Moon fills the night sky.
Dreadlands: Wolf Moon is the first in an exciting epic fantasy series that mashes Monsters, Myth, and Vikings, for fans of Tolkien and History's Vikings. Book one of the Moon Cycle Dodecad.

Review
The lines are well delivered and the story is well paced. I felt like a detective and if you are anything like me then you will get a thrill out of the "I was right!" moments you will recieve while it not being painfully obvious. This book quickly became one of my favorites and Jamie Engle is such an amazing soul. She definetly knows how to reel the readers in! If you're a fan of Sci-fi, Fantasy and Lure then you will love Dreadlands. (I am still speechless!) Your jaw will drop and your eyes will grow wide but you'll have to read to truly feel the element of surprise."
"A coming-of-age young adult fantasy, expertly paced...an absolute page turner...unlike anything on the market."
"Takes the reader beyond fantasy and fiction into the world of believability...instantly captivates with a command for Old Norse language that is uniquely her own."

But Arud and Lykke aren't the only ones trying to eek out an existence in the werewolf strewn Dreadlands. On their journey they encounter several others, not all of which are as they appear and it's a race against the clock to find out who is friend and foe."-Daniel L Welch, Author of Tears of Blood (The Veronian Archives).
Now I have to mention the elephant in the room. This story has some issues that I don’t agree with, which were mentioned in my comments as I was reading. That’s not to say that I didn’t like the book, on the contrary I was thinking of giving it four stars for that, but in the end when I evaluated everything from the story, personalities, places, and themes I realized that my bias for the story and the characters led me to give it five stars. If I had to give you a reason to read this book. It would be one that if you are a reader who likes a story that focus on the characters, and not a story with characters, this book is for you. I can’t wait for the sequel.
