Best bang for the buck

I was reluctant in buying this because all previous SSDs I have ever bought were from Samsung on laptops.
I came across OCZ because they have an overall excellent reputation with MacBook Pro laptops.
So I gave it a try for my desktop some TLC. I am running the Alienware Alpha by the way.

The clone provided went smoothly and quickly and going from the stock 1TB 5400 RPM to the 480GB SSD was a huge difference. The boot up was reduced to mere seconds and the read and write rates for large files flew in less than a minute.
When I normally transfer large files from rendering video projects, I tend to go do small chores but now I can just sit and watch my files transfer in no time. I am pretty happy.

Great Speeds for the money.

Just installed this drive into my mid 2012 Macbook Pro 15" 2.3 i7. I had experience my Macbook Pro having some significant slowdown on the boot times and opening apps. I installed the drive without any hiccups and the fit was perfect. I literally just installed this drive, so I haven't had time to run any benchmarks for you geeks out there.
Superfast boots, as I expected with changing to an SSD. Apps opening seemingly instantaneously.
Note: While cloning my old drive to the new SSD, the SSD got very hot, but I've read that is normal when you are writing so much data to the drive at once. Plus, it was cloning over USB 2.0 via my USB 2.0 Sata cable. It would have been much faster if I had a USB 3.0 Sata enclosure/cable.

I chose to use Carbon Copy to clone my original drive (which had about 240GB of data after I cleaned it up). Carbon Copy had a free 30 day trial with the software. Also, it took about 3.4 hours to clone my drive via the USB 2.0 Sata cable.

You have to format the drive for mac before cloning. Just a thought.

Back in Nov 2015 I had a Samsung EVO 850 SSD and it was a great upgrade. Now I have purchased this OCZ SSD for another PC and it's been working very well for the last week. It was cheaper than the Samsung EVO 850 and it delivers the same read ans write speeds.

I wanted a terabyte drive, but this is plenty close enough and the solid-state tech means it is shock-resistant an not subject to hard-drive crashes like the one that made this purchase necessary. It's a great comfort to know that I don't have to worry about those things anymore. I have read and been told that the updated technology and storage algorithms have been greatly improved for SSDs, so that I don't have to worry about the original tendency of solid state drives to degrade each time they are written to. I hope so. Writing a bit to an SSD used to cause slight damage to the drive, so that, over time, less and less space was available. That's supposedly no longer the case. But 3TB gives a lot of headroom, anyway.
As far as performance, this drive is a little slower than the high-speed HD I had, but very slightly. And the boot is a bit faster, as this is all memory, essentially; no drive to spin up and searching the drive is faster. So far, so good.

Not bad so far. Use it as the OS and software drive for my Home Security PC so its basically been on and used 24/7 since I installed it about 6-8 months ago.

Installing was easy enough if you are familiar with the insides of a PC. If you aren't just do some searching on YouTube its much easier then you would think.

Time will tell but as long as this continues to work without any issues or hiccups i'll consider amending this to Five stars

Very happy with this. I read a lot of reviews on the tech sites and bottom line is that if you want an affordable SSD for PC gaming then this is it. It's really hard to beat the price point for the 960GB model. The technical reviews that hit it with the barrage of speed tests show it as middle of the road for most things but for gaming its close to the best(obviously Samsung that costs more than double for the size). Comes in a nice metal case like the higher end models too. Tested with load intensive games like Witcher3/Mass Effect/GTA V and a big difference(GTAV still takes some time but it is quicker now).

I have had this ssd since January 2017. What an amazing product! It has turned my 7 year old Intel I5-650 into a speed demon. I was using a Western Digital 1TB green hdd and now that is my mass storage drive. With this Toshiba drive, my computer boots up faster than it did when it was new 7 years ago. I'm talking under 15 seconds, and under 10 seconds some days. In fact, I know I'm not feeling the full potential of the drive because my motherboard only supports Sata 3gb/s and this drive is capable of Sata 6gb/s. It really has turned my old computer into better than new. I highly recommend this drive to anybody. I got a great deal on it in January for only $116. The back of the box lists a 3 year limited warranty.

Purchased in march, didn't get around to install it until end of April, the drive installed without issue breathed new life into my development machine, however 6 months in the drive often fails to initialize during power on self test, so several reboots are required, sometimes I have had to restore the MBR because, failed reads in the boot sector. This particular computer is not run very often and sits powered down most of the time.

So I purchased a competitors drive so I can transfer OS to it. I just do not trust the drive anymore, and this is the second time I have seen issues with this particular model drive. It had been recommended to me by a friend, when I last spoke with him, he reported that his drive had failed as well. Generally speaking Toshiba products are fairly reliable, that being said buy the insurance.
