As the headline states, this Samsung wireless charger looks good but it's functionality is better. It's apparently a 3 coil charger compressed into a small compact chassis so it's a bit more forgiving on placement than standard single coil charger though placement still matters too. As an added bonus, detection is a bit faster ok thanks to the extra copper. It's a bit more costly than other similar chargers in the pad/puck style but the extra added convenience of forgivable device placement and an included 2A charger with cable makes it worth the price.

There's only one downside and it's minor: the LED Halo light only goes through the front half of the clear ring and not the entire circumference of the ring as the marketing nomenclature of the product suggests but it serves its purpose and is still pretty stylish on its own. If you want a great Qi charger for your Samsung Galaxy phone - or any phone that supports Qi wireless charging really, then look no further.

Great product. I bought an extra one for my desk at work. I am so done with plugging in the charger --- it's weak spot on most androids as it wears out quickly. Hence the switch to the charging pad. That said, I purchased another charging stand for my android that I keep on the kitchen counter. That one is PHENOMENAL. I love that one because it has 3 charging spots and it's a way way faster charge. You ALWAYS hit the sweet spot on that one. It's a LANIAKEA power stand. I have a Samnsung Galaxy 7. I would have purchased that one for work but I had didn't have an inconspicuous spot to place it so I bought the pad instead. You do have to move it around and make sure you place it correctly (hit the sweet spot) to be sure it's charging. Other than that, great product --- works well. Very convenient. No more plugging cords in and carrying them around.

I love this charger. I'm not going to lie, it is not as fast as plugging your phone in. Using the same wall adapter I plug my phone into the wall and it takes about 90 minutes to charge. Using the charging pad it will take about 3 hours.

Why I like it:
-Don't have to fumble with cord and plug (especially at night going to sleep)
-Don't have to worry about angling the plug in socket to get phone to charge
-Phone's USB port not charging/working? No problem

What I dislike:
-Charger lights up when charging/charged (Blue when charging / Green when charged) If you need a completely dark room this will bother you. The light will stay on until the phone is removed from the pad.
-About 1" window for the phone to be placed and charging to work. The charging light helps you know when the placement is right
-Takes longer to charger than plugging it in. Best for charging while asleep

Being a life long Samsung fan when it comes to cellphones, I have come to the realization that I am extremely hard on the charging ports, whether it be the way I use my phone while its plugged in, or if its a fault with the Samsung brand. On my last Samsung Galaxy S4, I purchased a charging station for it and had to also purchase and adapter for the battery. Since then, Samsung Galaxy S6's are now equipped with the wireless charging built in! After about 6 months of use, I noticed it started taking for ever to charge my S6 and the charging port felt "loose" with the cord inside. I tried switching cords but it still didn't fix my problem. I decided to purchase the Samsung Charging Pad in hopes that it would still protect my battery but also charge my phone in a reasonable amount of time. I have to admit, I was quite surprised at how well it actually works. The station lights up "blue" while charging, then switches to "green" when fully charge. If my battery is completely dead, it only takes about an hour on the charging station to get back up to 100%. Definitely happy with this product!

I have had this charger for a couple of months now, and it works even through my case. It convenient to lay the phone on the charger to preserve or boost the charge and pick it up for use without unplugging. However, I found this charger works better on my desk at work than at home for several reasons, and even then there are concerns that make detract from the usability I expected.

One problem is that the charger lights up when in use, and this light kept me awake when I used the charger at my bedside at night. Also, the screen on my Galaxy S6 tends to remain on or turn on unexpectedly while charging on this device. The screen remaining on is an issue because it reduces the speed of the charge. Also, since charging ceases once 100% battery is reached, the screen remaining on or turning on drains the battery again if I leave my phone on the charger longer than the precise amount of time it needs to charge.

I would rate this with more stars if there were a simple way to prevent the screen from automatically remaining on or turning on while charging. Best use occurs when you keep close watch on the screen and only leave it on the device until it finishes charging and no longer.

I just had to replace a tablet because the crappy micro usb socket wore and broke from the constant plugging in/disconnecting of chargers (fix would have required new motherboard), so I decided to try to reduce the wear on my phone's micro usb charging port, before it follows suit, by using this alternative charging method. So far-so good.
