I enjoy the anthology. It takes glimpses of regions in the 6th World that would not normally be inspected. Each story is a solid piece and held my interest, and usually would not let me go until I finished it.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 14, 2016I love anthologies and collections and whatever else you call a bunch of short pieces by various authors. I love Shadowrun. So, right there, World of Shadows has me hooked. I won't say all the stories are winners, but, just about all of them are readable and have plenty of Sixth World flavor. Most of them require no previous knowledge of the Shadowrun world, just a willingness to get some magic in your cyberpunk and visa versa. I will mention that I was very excited to have a new story by Michael Stackpole, especially since it featured Wolfgang Kies, my favorite Shadowrun character. Patrick Goodman, Russell Zimmerman and Mel Odom have written Shadowrun novels I have also enjoyed. They have stories in here that should entertain other readers as much as they entertained me.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 19, 2016Great short stories, all capturing the feel of the setting. Great writers that have gotten to check out there other work.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 23, 2020I thought the first anthology, "Shadowrun: Spells and Chrome" was a fantastic collection of tales that brought the unique world of Shadowrun to life. With that in mind, I was looking forward to this second collection of stories. Sadly, I have to say that it was not as good. This is a collection that puts its best foot forward by leading with some good tales but the quality soon slips with the middle tales and finally sputters to a conclusion with the final few stories. I found too many of the included stories to be slightly above average fan fiction, with the rest being little more than extracts from forthcoming novellas. Overall, this collection, while not terrible, was just a mediocre fizzle for me.
