Great solution for dry seasonings

Great solution for dry seasonings
I’ve used these for a dry rub shaker and a cocktail mixer. I prefer for dry use. If using for liquid you really need to screw the lid on tightly or it will leak . It can be a bit hard to remove after cranking it on extra tight. Also hand washing is recommended. I’d rate higher if it was dishwasher safe.

These lids are so handy to convert jelly jars into spice blend holders as well as other uses. Although the lid's cover was on tight when delivered, I have a trick for getting it off and then put it on less tightly. I think a drop of olive oil on the lid will keep it easy to remove or a shot of silicon spray or running a candle around the edges of the protruding part, so I'm not worried about that. I'd read that some others gave up trying to remove the lid so wasn't surprised that it was on tightly. I found a fork under the rolled lip lifted it up without much effort. The tight fitting lids do a good job of keeping the product you put in the jars moisture free, but benefit from something to make their removal easier.

The holes are a good size for sprinkling ground spice blends or cinnamon & sugar. Also I like Arrowroot powder as body powder better than corn starch baby powder, and dispense it with this since it doesn't come in a shaker type container. These lids would also fit larger Mason or Bell jars if they have a regular mouth size. Mine are all wide mouth so I won't be using them on the larger jars, but my jelly jars are the perfect size for things I create and aren't going to get stale like a larger amount could.

I wanted to wait for awhile before I wrote a review for these shaker tops.
I love them! They may not be used everyday but they work when I need them.
They are great for the spice blends I keep on hand for shaking on hot oatmeal or dusting toast with the cinnamon or pumpkin spice blends.
The cover really helps to keep the shaker top clean.
I hesitated to buy them because, at the time, it seemed like a luxury. Now I am very glad these little shakers are a permanent part of my kitchen.
    I would definitely recommend these.

I bought these for our winter place, where space is limited. I use mason jars for drinking glasses, leftover storage and more, serving double duty. This 2-pk allows me to have one shaker for my homemade seasoned salt in a half pint mason jar and the other for mixed drinks in a larger jar. Great idea!

Very high quality. I’ll enjoy these for years. I wanted this lid to shake sugar on my morning cereal and it’s just perfect for that. It screwed right onto a jelly jar sized mason jar I had. Now, instead of shaking a sugar spoon over my cereal and getting uneven piles and plain spots, it’s just right. The cover lid (one comes with each of the two shaker lids) keeps humidity out and works perfectly. I plan to use the second lid for powered sugar. Excellent product, happy to recommend!

I grow and mix my own herbs and spices and been using old herb and spice containers i had from when I purchased them at a store. I was looking for something that I could use with my existing jars that I already store my freshly ground spices and blends in, without having to transfer them from one container to another. When I found these "shaker lids, they where perfect. They not only fit my existing jars but they help maintain the freshness of the contents. Great product

IMPOSSIBLE to remove cap. I bought two sets of these for a total of four. Every single cap is pretty much welded on. I could not remove them, nor could my husband, nor could the neighborhood strongman. Husband said I should pry them off with a screwdriver, but that would damage them. I'm returning them. Waste of time and money.

These caps are very useful. I had the lid on a jar of ground pepper fail. I had to hold down the large opening to use the shaker side - just what you want to do while you are cooking. The holes in these caps are just right for shaking salt and pepper into a pot cooking on the stove, and by using them on Ball/Kerr 12-ounce jelly jars, they fit nicely into the spice cabinet. I also see many additional uses suggested by other customers.
