    Bracket hole doesn’t need to be widened. Connection to base is cut to be fit through the hole at an angle. Only the gold ring should be put through the hole. Silver tab should be under bracket for grounding. Ensure good connection between bracket and metal it is mounted on for good grounding. Good grounding = Better signal.

    Took a minute to figure this out. Unscrew the gold connector from the silver. Feed the cable in through the mounting bracket from the BNC end. The silver section (tab at the bottom) then fits through the hole in the bracket. Screw the gold connector back onto the silver... screw the antenna onto the gold connector. There you are! No need to enlarge the hole in the mounting bracket.

    But performance is pretty low -- I'd love to actually hook it up to an antenna analyzer & see how it does. For 700/800/900MHz monitoring, it doesn't perform much better than the 31" AM/FM whip on my car.

    Ideally, I'd give it 2.5 stars.
