I tested it with the stereo XY array that comes with the Zoom H6, and the elastic band at the base grips onto the module very well. You must be careful with disturbing the gain knob setting when placing the windscreen, but it's easy to adjust and verify that if needed by lifting part of the elastic.
Attached to this review is a video demonstration in rather unfair conditions, where I place the recorder at a medium-high gain directly in the path of a tower fan on a low-speed setting (even set to low I feel a good breeze at the other corner of my room) and the difference was noticeable. The noise reduced considerably, from maxing out the peak meter with distortion and clipping from the mics bare and exposed, to barely registering at the bottom quarter of the meter with the windscreen installed.
It's important to keep realistic expectations, though. The WS-G9 won’t work miracles; gusts and strong winds are still audible, but they don’t seem to dominate and destroy the recording as with unprotected microphones.
