These little buggers are expensive for how much coverage you get out of them, but they are worth the assurance that you are getting good adhesion on your 3M products that likely costed you an arm and a leg to begin with.
I cant say for certain how many in^2 they will cover, but they do dry quickly so once you open the package you are on the clock.

These prep pads are awesome if you do any type of double back tape on vehicles... I have installed things before with just the double back tape and they usually come loose after Time... With these prep pads when you stick the double back tape it stays there!!! This is a very good product if you do anything on vehicles with double back tape this is a must-have!!!

I used this to attach 3M hook and loop strips on top of spray-in bed liner while installing a BedRug in a Jeep TJ. I was a bit suspect, but it did work to "promote adhesion."

The cost/product ratio was a little high. Each pouch (about the size of a wet wipe) contains a small, thin sponge that is soaked in the product. That is supposed to be enough to cover 150 square inches, which is just a little larger than 1-foot square—not a lot of surface area. I used 3 of the pouches for my application, but I did not cover anywhere near 3 square feet.

Besides cost, my biggest issue was the durability of the sponge. In most applications it would probably be fine, but in my case, the sponges disintegrated very quickly when being dragged across the textured bed liner. Although it cost more than I think it should, I only needed a small amount, and I wasn't willing to invest in a larger quantity bottle.

I tried using the aftermarket adhesion promoter and tape barely stuck. Used the 3M adhesion promoter and what a difference. But you have to be careful with the 3M you pretty much only get one shot at sticking on whatever you are sticking on. It grabs on and won't let go , but that is what you want. Amazing product cannot believe how much difference it makes.

I've used this primarily to adhere a trunk lip spoiler and foam strip lip spoiler for my car via double-sided foam tape. Naturally these items will need to be able to tolerate the force from air resistance. Using this basically activates the tackiness of your adhesive substance, as if it is partly breaking down the molecular structure of the adhesive medium.

The catch is that because your double-sided adhesive foam strip is partly melting in structural integrity, I highly advise you line up the item you're planning to stick on correctly in one attempt. If the foam grabs onto another surface, it will cling, and if you need to readjust what you're sticking on, you will stretch the foam tape out of shape and make your job much harder. The adhesion is still active, but the stretched foam tape makes it nearly impossible to stick back onto your surface. Get it right once, and it will last.

I bought a new truck that had a factory spray in bedliner. I put a Leer on it and bought the Ford bed carpet kit. The velcro pads would not stick to the bed liner until I used the promoter. It worked good but the 5 pads do not go very far and are very expensive for what you get. If I did it again I would probably look at a bottle of promoter but its even much worse for price but would probably go a lot further.
