Samsung is the way to go!

Samsung is the way to go!
I built my PC about two and a half years ago and I knew that an SSD was the only way to go for my boot drive. Unfortunately my budget was tight so I went with a Kingston V300 120gb. Don't get me wrong it performed just fine but I helped a friend build her computer about 8 months later and her WD blue drive booted faster than my Kingston did with Windows 7. I was rather surprised because of the reputation of SSD's. I know the Kingston is a slower SSD but surely it should out perform a traditional hard drive. Fast forward to a month ago. I was restoring my iPhone and the boot drive kept running out of space and would never complete the restore. Apparently iTunes needs a tremendous about of space to restore a phone. I am assuming it is the backup being decompressed. After spending about two hours moving files and deleting things I was able to get the phone up and running but that was the last straw for the Kingston. The next day I ordered this Samsung 750 EVO and man what a difference. This thing is amazing! I've attached the results of my SSD benchmark and you can see it for your self. I highly recommend this or the 850 which I would assume would perform even better.

I'm surprised how much of a difference this makes games load faster some more than others. Games such as Fallout 3 and New Vegas load significantly faster also I might be crazy but It feels like my fallout New Vegas lags significantly less It used to stutter alot in certain areas but now it seems to run fine. In some other games I didn't really notice a difference like in call of duty WAW it might load a little faster but nothing mind blowing. It really depends if the game partially installs to the HDD or not. Apps also seem to launch faster as well and everything on the XMB also loads super fast as well. Since SSDs are going down in price I definitely recommend picking one up for your ps3 it really makes a difference especially on digital titles!

I've used both Samsung EVO 750 and 850 series SSDs. Both have been reliable and fast. 850 series is faster but you can't go wrong with either one. I like to use the Samsung SSDs on more premium laptops when reliability is more paramount than lower price. 850/950 PROs on mostly gaming rigs and higher end models and 750s for everything else. They've all been rock solid and consistent.

This is the third Samsung SSD I have purchased. I run a RAID 0 configuration with a standard HDD as data storage. I have my OS and primary programs on the SSD array. The Samsung SSD series are great, no issues. And the migration software along with the Samsung Magician software help with installation, data and program migration and SSD performance tweaking. Boot and program load times are almost instantaneous.

If you're an 'Old-Dog' like me, speed is relative. You don't get up as much to change channels: you use the remote, instead. Your evening walks begin to resemble a vacation: your neighbor thoughtfully collects your mail and newspaper(s). But if you're as adventurous as I am, you've embraced many of the wonders of modern life: microwaves, cellphones, big-screen TV's, computers and 1-800 numbers, etcetera. I've learned a lot about computers, enough to realize I won't live long enough to run all my goodies, but if you'd like to speed up your boot-time(s), an SSD is a hard thing to beat. I didn't buy it for speed (hey, any computer's gonna be a LOT faster than I am) but for reliability, and to a lesser degree, lowered power-consumption. I did a lot of reading (another endangered species) to learn as much as I could before I bought one, and I couldn't be happier. If you're worried about read/write cycles, don't. This thing will outlive cockroaches, in all probability. Don't worry about 'single-level', 'multi-layer' or any of that other nerd-speak. Just buy one and see what I mean. If you already like your machine, and just want to boost speed and reliability, this may be what you're looking for. I had Windows reinstalled, and supplied my tech with this drive and he charged me $60 for everything. SSD's have come down markedly since they were first introduced (remember when storage was $1,000 a mb?) and there's no longer any viable excuse not to get one if paring-down the number of moving-parts figures into your scheme of doing things. That's my story, and I'm stickin' to it...Enjoy!

This is a great SSD drive. It installed without any problems and works really fast compared to my spinning drive that it replaced. Computer
start up times are approximately one half what they were before. File access is also very fast. Highly recommend this drive.

Pluses:
Laptop boots Windows 10 in seconds instead of minutes.
SSD's are fantastic.
Trust the Samsung brand.

Minus:
After cloning my old HDD, BIOS had some issue with the SSD boot partition - you had to press "enter" to bypass an error, then it worked. Couldn't find any online info about this particular problem. It's apparently okay now - possibly was something with the partition that's reserved to cover bad sectors, and/or it got fixed by an update to Windows.

What Can I say, I swapped out my Standard lap top hard drive for this one and man is it fast processing commands. The migration software made it a breeze once completed and everything switched around there was no glitches, hang ups ect. Samsung is the way to go because of its simple to use software. Very happy with my laptop now using this SSD. I will never go back to a standard hard drive. Time is precious and this saves me a lot of it.

I swapped my wife's laptop with this SSD drive and i noticed significant improvements in her laptop performance. Windows 10 boots in just 6 seconds since i hit the power button. It is still pricy but i recommend it for those who suffer from PC poor performance putting in mind that you also need to look at other components like RAM size the CPU speed that might be also choking your PC.
