These plugs WORK!
I recently bought tv sync lights that light up in different colors depending on what's on the tv screen. No matter what I did, I just couldn't get it to work/connect using the Sony hdmi plugs. You'd think with a brand name like Sony, they'd work perfectly.. but you'd be wrong. Mind you, these were brand new plugs.I decided to purchase these Amazon Basics hdmi plugs and now my sync box is working!! I'm a very happy customer. I will definitely buy more in the future.     This Amazon HDMI cable is one of the many very reasonably priced 'AmazonBasics' products available here on this website.

    HDMI cables (and really any cables, in general) have long been subject to the claims made by some sellers that their (much more expensive) cables were higher quality, faster, and so forth. In fact, any HDMI cable that satisfies requirements for high speed 4K video will work just as well as any other.

    I did some independent research before purchasing these cables (I purchased the 3-pack, 6 ft length, which is a great value):

    - CNET's article "Which HDMI cable should I buy?' dated November 21, 2017 (you can find it online at CNET dot com) explains what matters and what doesn't, and states that you can't rely on labels to tell you what a cable is capable of - "The only way to verify it works is to test it." It think that it is somewhat ironic that the article goes on to list recommendations for cables, but they are based on 'reputable companies that have great user reviews and have sold HDMI cables for years' and 'rated to have the bandwidth to handle 4K and HDR content'.
    - wirecutter online article "Cheap, Great HDMI Cables" dated February 1, 2018 (available at thewirecutter dot com online) - same author as the CNET article cited above, but published slightly more recently (still does not have any test data, though)
    ---> CNET's and wirecutter's recommendation: this AmazonBasics High-Speed HDMI cable

    Various other articles I found online make the same clear statement - that price doesn't matter - but I didn't find any comparison tests that included this Amazon cable.

    This AmazonBasics cable specifications are the final confirmation to me: "meets the latest HDMI standards (4K Video at 60 Hz, 2160p, 48 bit/px color depth); supports bandwidth up to 18Gbps". These specs are as good as any cable currently available. And finally, this cable has a lifetime warranty. How can you beat that?

    As a final point, I purchased the 6 ft length cables simply to be sure I had long enough cables for wherever I happen to place my equipment. Several of the articles I read point out that any cable of 25 ft or less should have no degradation of video or audio quality. This AmazonBasics cable is available in lengths up to 35 ft, with the longest version including something called 'RedMere' technology. I'm not familiar with that particular term and it appears that it is only sold by the Amazon Warehouse Deals outlet, so it may be a discontinued model.

    I have one of these cables now installed between my Apple TV 4K and my Sony HD television so far. Video and Audio quality are excellent.

    I've been using Amazon's HDMI cables for several years now. I use them alongside a few other brands. There's a few areas where these shine and others where they fall short.

    For reference, I do not have 4k so I cannot speak to how these work for 4k content/tvs.

    PERFORMANCE
    The picture quality on these is great, I cannot tell a difference between Amazon's cables and the next guys. Other's have written about the technical specs, if you care about that check those reviews out. Not much else to say in this area, they work as you would expect.

    PRICE COMPARISON
    This is where these cables shine, the price point is the best I have seen for a quality cable. This is why I have bought these cables several times. The price is right.

    QUALITY OF PRODUCT
    This is where the product loses a star. They aren't the best quality. Like I've said, I've ordered many of these HDMI cables. And they have all worked out of the box. But after a few years some of them start experiencing problems. Sometimes the signal won't connect right away or there's a fray that makes the signal drop. It's not every cable, but it's happened enough were I can see a trend. Bottom line, don't expect these to last forever.

    You might also note, that they are a slightly stiffer then normal HDMI cable as well. That can make it a little difficult to get the cable to lay how you want it.

    I have higher quality HDMI cables that have been going strong for close to a decade. But they also costed me a LOT more than these. For the price I think these are still well worth the purchase. But don't expect these to last as long as the higher quality brands.

    This is the second time I bought Amazon basics HDMI cable sets. They are going strong.

    Short review: These are short enough so I don't have to worry about cable management, Fast enough to meet my 1080p 180hz gaming, sturdy enough to last long(I have 10 feet version of them for over 2 years now). Would buy Amazon basics cable blind folded at any given time.

    Long review:
    I have setup a desk with a gaming monitor and I usually work on two laptops at once. One of them is my personal gaming laptop Acer Predator Helios 300 PH315-52 and the other is Work's M1 Pro Macbook pro 14 inch.
    The monitor is 1080p 180hz Acer nitro vg240ym3.
    Though the primary purpose is gaming, when I am focused on work, 24inch monitor looks much better than 14 inch laptop also making it ergonomic for long work sessions.
    I use a HDMI switch to switch between inputs from both laptops to the monitor.

    Coming to my choice of HDMI cables. For work, any generic HDMI cable would have worked. But for Gaming, I need HDMI 2.0 cables as I often hook up the laptop to LG 43nano75 and run 4k 60hz gaming.
    With that in mind, I got 10ft long HDMI cables(Pack of 3) about 2 years ago and have been using them till I got this monitor in June 2024. Just because 10ft is too long to manage for a desk setup, I needed cables to be short, thus landed on this combo.

    Pros:
    * Supports 4k 60hz, 1080p 180hz, I can confirm this as I have personally tested them. This technically means everything between the band of 1080p 180hz to 4k 60hz should be working.
    * Sturdy enough to withstand strain with bends and twists when connected.

    Cons:
    I don't find any. Make sure you buy the right length cables for better cable management.

    Verdict: One can't go wrong with Amazon basics HDMI 2.0 cables. They are my go to cables.
    I would definitely recommend them over any other similar priced or lower priced alternatives.
