I have had this controller now for a few months now and I have had a constant humming which I thought was being caused by my speakers or some other set up. Well, guess what, it's a known issue. Google it. You'll find many many users complaining about the same thing. I will try to return it. This is really bad. I did a wedding and boy was it embarrassing. The constant noise is horrible.

A very good solid controller for the money. My son uses it and demonstrates with the right talent you can do amazing things. The big difference with the Pioneer units are the input/output, more metal construction and a few added features. My son had had this for 2 years and has done many gigs with it. You will get all the bells and whistles without dropping 1k on a pro unit.

I started learning on the Numark Mixtrack about 7 yrs ago. I then used the Numark NS7 series. But I wanted something to just kick back and have control over my music. This definitely fit the criteria I was searching for. Amazing product. Easy plug and play once software is installed. Definitely recommend any Numark Products

My initial review was scathing due to receiving a faulty Numark MixTrack Platinum DJ Deck. One of the issues included the left deck cutting out after 20 mins. There were multiple resets as well. My comparison points included other DJ controllers in the same price range, running on the same exact setups. Once I was sent a replacement MixTrack Platinum, it was a night and day difference.

I’ve been using it for the last 2 and a half years, 3-5 times a week, almost entirely without fault. The only issues that have occurred involved unplugging the MixTrack USB cable, and pluging it back in to get Virtual DJ to recognize it. I’ve had far more expensive controllers, like the Numark NV 2, and while it’s better for many obvious reasons, the Numark MixTrack Platinum has become my go to controller. I leave the NV2 in my Magma flight case, and take the MixTrack Platinum out instead. It may have a very plastic like feel, but overall it’s sturdy. The reason why it’s my go to controller now comes down to it’s simplicity. It has profesional sized pitch faders, with the ability to load up to 4 tracks using the 3rd and 4th buttons. There’s enough information on the turntables to glance at the them and see how much time is left, in addition to the song’s beats per minute. The outer circular red ring displays the track position for scratching and cutting, as well as looping. When you’re nearing the end of the song, it begins to flash. This is incredibly helpful for my karaoke nights, where I use a second program named Karma to run Karaoke.

The MixTrack Platinum’s filters have their own knobs, as opposed to appearing as a secondary shift function on many other controllers in this price range. It’s also the actual width of my Numark NV2, which is great, since it doesn’t feel to cramped. And since the NV2 has functions that aren’t necessary at times, the Mixtrack Platinum is lighter, and easier to carry around. I highly recommend the Odyssey MixTrack Platinum DJ Controller Case. It protects it very well, and it looks clean and professional.

The things that can be improved on the MixTrack Platinum in another iteration include, rubber knobs, sturdier feeling pitch faders, and most importantly, XLR outputs. While I currently run the RCA outputs to a Peavey AT 10-BT mixer, which gives the signal a boost via its XLR outputs, the signal chain would be better with XLR outputs on the MixTrack Platinum. On nights when I strictly DJ, it would allow me to leave my large mixer at home. I’ve compared the additional head room that occurs when using the Numark NV2’s balanced XLR outputs to the RCA outputs on the MixTrack Platinum, and with the same settings in Virtual DJ 8.4, and my external PV mixer, the NV2 simply produced higher volume outputs. The MixTrack Platinum does benifit from using shorter length, thicker RCA cables which help with analog noise shielding. Once that’s set, with a 3 foot RCA cable running into a mixer, you’ll have a clean, interference free signal.

With that being said, the RCA outputs on the MixTrack are still very impressive, though I never use it without my external mixer to boost the overall decibels of the signal chain. Converting the unbalanced RCA outputs on the MixTrack Platinum to XLR doesn’t provide any benefits. When I tested it, due to the length needed to run it to my speakers, and hide the wires, it introduced signal interference that I never usually get in any situation, even with 6 wireless mics out for karaoke nights.

Overall though, due to its lighter weight, and very professional features for its price point, the Mixtrack Platinum has been my most used controller for over 2 and a half years. If anyone has the aforementioned unresponsive turntable issues, or frequent shut down issues, that’s not normal, and you should get a replacement. There’s another issue that I’ve seen, a reviewer mentioned line noise. I couldn’t replicate that even with the initially faulty MixTrack I had. The only time I’ve seen that with a controller is when the user hasn’t shut off the other sound outputs in the windows sound panel. Windows also uses venue TVs as the primary sound outputs by default. Every time I Dj in a new venue and they want me to display videos and logos, once their TV is disabled as a sound device, the settings are saved for as long as you have that laptop. Not disabling it can potentially cause line noise. Another possibility is poor RCA cables. Getting shielded ones clears that up right away. Hopefully that helps!

I loved, loved, LOVED this turntable controller, until it stopped functioning correctly. Granted, I purchased a used one, but about five months into using it, the left headphone button stopped working. (I know that was the problem because I followed the troubleshooting instructions and noted the lack of MIDI info and the fact that it no longer lit up.)

I sent it in for repairs (paying for shipping), and though I got it back with that problem fixed, it arrived with another problem that I didn't notice for a month or so because I wasn't doing that many gigs ... it came back with a super noisy RCA output. I can get clean sound if I route the headphone jack out to my mixer/amp setup, but then I don't get to use the faders or FX and even more importantly, I can't use the headphones to beatmatch.

I've tried to use a hum/noise eliminator, but to no avail. This isn't just a normal audio hum, it sounds like static noise, like what you might hear on a radio that's not tuned to an actual station. I can get by on super loud gigs, but it makes it annoying to practice with.

I'm thinking the adage "you get what you pay for" applies here.

Also, I've accidentally popped the crossfader tip off a few times. I had to super glue it back on just to make sure I didn't lose it.

We love our mixer! I bought it as a birthday gift for my wife, she's always loved music but has never really done any mixing. It's definitely a skill, but it is fun to play with and try your hand a mixing. We were surprised at how reasonable the price was for something like this (remember we are complete newbs!). The mixer is very well built and looks rather professional. FYI, international shipping is not free which was not initially clear, in that, Amazon boasted "eligible for free shipping" even with my international delivery address as default.

I already owned a Numark PartyMix, but I wanted to take my game up a notch without taking my bank account out of commission. The Mixtrack Platinum has accomplished this goal and done it in style. It's a nice size and fits easily on my computer desk. The jog wheels are very smooth and responsive. I am using this with Virtual DJ Pro and have not experienced the problems that other users have mentioned. I highly recommend this product, whether you are a beginner or someone wanting to do just a little more with mixing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gran mixer por el precio
