The boys are back so is it any good.
PROS : Video quality is amazing, cars amazing, set amazing, and of course the guys are better than ever. You can tell amazon didn't try to force them to be something there not its still the guys being there funny entertaining self's.
CONS : You will have to hold back tears during the intro and hope no one notices you choking up over a car show.

It's just that good, thanks amazon and everyone involved in this show for keeping the guys on a roll. And on that bomb shell click play.

I have been waiting for this forever!!! I watched it and barely blinked the entire time!!! It was magnificent. I'm glad they spent the time using those 4K cameras. The guys are getting right back into it. There are some things, Like Mike Skinner. Not fond of him. But those cars and the racing was fantastic. The camaraderie was back, the laughs were back!!! It was like stepping into a worn pair of jeans. Nice and comfy!!! I like the tailoring the show to where you are. I hope that continues! Also, I'm hoping there's more falling down of the old blokes in the future. I'll cry if they catch fire. I'll always miss the Stig and star in a reasonably priced car, but I think this is the best thing to happen to these guys. It's going to be great!!!

Have you ever bought something like low-fat cheese, thinking "yeah, this should still hit the spot," only to be disappointed by a mouth full of sawdust and play-doh? That was basically BBC's new Top Gear. Well, get ready for the full, melty, artery-clogging, took-four-cows-and-eight-years, extra sharp English cheddar of automotive television. Top gear is back no worse for wear, other than some initial-based dyslexia, with all the meaningless banter and even more cash for four-wheeled debauchery. I've been longing for the tremendous trio to return ever since the fracas, and the moment has finally arrived. Sit down, buckle up, and have a laugh.

I got a little teary during the intro... seeing three mates back together in Mustangs across the landscape. "Bright sun-shiny day," indeed.

As a long time viewer of the old TG, I was sad to see the over the top reintroduction of the new group. I missed "the boys". But once I saw the Gran Tour trailer, I signed up for Prime that very day. I just watched S01E01 and I'm still grinning. Gonna go back and watch it again. It's the small comments that make be cackle and howl with laughter so much but the camera work and production is just as impressive as OTG (Old Top Gear).

I found the EbolaDrome. Wasn't hard to find, I wonder what else gets driven around there...

Anyway, superb work lads, Well Done Amazon and I look forward to "many, many new adventures".
RIP Jeremy Renner.

I am a medical doctor in the united stated and I approve this show.

This is leaps and bounds better than top gear, the boys are back, the jokes are back, this is the definition of adult vehicular entertainment.

I was pretty late to the Top Gear club. I didn't start watching until after Clarkson was famously sacked by the BBC. Nevertheless, it's become one of my favorite shows. I'm as excited as anyone else for what's coming on the Grand Tour's inaugural season.

The intro is amazing with Jezza trading rainy London for sunny California followed by 100 years of cars rolling through the desert like something out of Mad Max. Glorious.

The Good:

It's retains the spirit of Top Gear. Three guys who love cars. Three guys who know cars. Three guys who have a whale of a time while driving cars they love. The passion is what makes it work. With Amazon's budget, I'm sure we'll see some great things going forward. This first episode features three new hypercars - a Ferrari, a McLaren and a Porsche. They are fantastic. It's amazing that after 100 years cars are still evolving and improving.

The format is pretty much the same as Top Gear - studio audience (the studio goes on the road this time). Gorgeous cars. Gorgeous scenery. A whole lot of fun. And yes, the canned laugh track is back, too. It's goofy, but it's part of the charm.

Since it's an internet show now, they're pretty much free reign to go and do whatever they like. The future is very, very bright.

The OK:

We'll see what happens without the Stig (at least he's absent so far) or putting a celebrity in a reasonably priced car. Admittedly, the celebrity appearances were genuinely one of the best parts of the show. It made for some great moments. I generally dislike the idea of celebrity, but it was a lot of fun to see them get excited about their laps times.

I don't know that the professional driver, Mike Skinner, has the charisma to last. We shall see.

I kid you not. The title of the first episode, though referring to the cars reviewed in it - was appropriate. The "Holy Trinity" are back. The first few moments of the show are beautiful. Those few moments alone were better than the entire most recent season of Top Gear. It'll bring a tear to a true fan's eye. The overall formula is quite similar to proper Top Gear, but with a few tweaks and changes that honestly seem like they could make it quite a bit better. Sure, we're missing some segments such as "Star in a reasonably priced car" but let's be honest... 1, or MAYBE 2 out of 10 "star" segments were decent. The rest everyone just skipped through. "The American" definitely seems like it could add a great extra level of humor over the Stig gags, though we'll all miss the Stig. Most importantly, the guys are here. The chemistry is as good or better than it ever has been. You know what to expect from them if you've ever seen an episode of Top Gear and they don't disappoint.

The only downside is it's bittersweet to see Top Gear go. It was a fun format and a great ride. There are some unforgettable episodes. Can't wait to see what the next 3 years (and hopefully far, far beyond that) brings. Amazon, please don't restrain them. Let them do what they do best. Keep the checks flying out the window to supply them with what they need to make a killing for you. Take care of it. You've already killed the BBC's biggest moneymaker in one evening. Take it as far as you can and let them drive it until the wheels fall off.
