Switched between these and the petrucci picks as a beginner as time passed I just stock up on these as articulation and attack become more precise smaller jazz picks are whether it’s at even form metal way more control. Kirk Hammett knows what’s up. Quick shipping will be stocking up again soon.

    I'm not a big fan of Kirk Hammet (although I respect him a lot) but when I recently saw what he did to his picks, I was intrigued. So I took one of my Jazz III picks, my Dremel and I did the exact same cut.
    I was surprised to notice that this cut not only didn't change the grip at all (my thumb and index fingers are closer to the tip) but added a tactile mark or "feel" if you want on the pick when you hold it, making it easy to spot the angle and depth of the pick between your fingers. It also removes a useless part of the pick, allowing the pick to move more freely between your fingers when you want to.
    Long story short, this is very clever from Kirk and it's become my go to pick. I absolutely love the control and feel you gain with this small modification. If you love the Jazz III, I would advise you to try one of these at least.
    Bonus : when you drop this thing, you cant' miss it on the ground :D
