I discovered Wired For Coding when searching for a career-guidance book for my grandson.
He is interested in the field of computer code writing & asked if I knew how to go about getting a job in the field. I didn't have a clue. I do now.
We received the book upon publication & have read it & found the plan to a code writing career laid out in simple to follow steps.
I was particularly impressed by the format of the book. The steps are arranged in chronological order with detailed instructions galore.
Each chapter is broken down into topics that are discussed with clarity & focused on the task at hand.
I particularly liked the Go Execute wrap up of each chapter as a friendly nudge to get the ball rolling.
In summation Wired For Coding is a well-thought out guide to getting one's Personal Brand (Another of Will's catch-phrases) established in the computer Coding world.

Wired for Coding is a fantastic resource for students, or anyone looking to break into a tech career. You can learn code syntax on many different websites, but becoming a developer requires a plan with clear goals. How do you separate yourself from the pack? How do you prove to a hiring manager or recruiter that you know what you're doing?

William Bushee channels insight from over 25 years of development experience to provide an end-to-end guide to put yourself in the best position as a prospective developer. I really valued the lists detailing exactly which steps to take and when to take them; breaking into tech is a challenging and daunting process, but with self-discipline and by exactly following the steps outlined in Wired for Coding, you can do it!

Great book! Goes into great detail about what can set you apart from the crowd when looking for jobs/internships. Whats even better is that its very straight forward and quick. He doesn't make the book 500 pages and fill it with little stories. He gets straight to the point and still manages to give good examples. Definitely a must read if you are going to be starting to look for jobs/internships soon.

I don't write code and I'm not a college student, but I'm a person trying to enter a very competitive market. And this book was an amazing tool that held some great tips on the small things I could do to gain an edge on the market. A lot of thought went into this book, both in its ideas and into the manner in which it was written. It was a flood of common sense technics that, in the long run, could have rippling effects. I would highly recommend this book not only to the college students it was intended, but for anyone entering a competitive market. It's that voice of reason and experience helping you, step by step, to get organized for that seemingly impossible job interview or almost unobtainable dream.
