Review
- Michael Port, WSJ and NY Times bestselling author of Steal the Show
"Having the opportunity to inspire people throughout the country, I am convinced that we are most fulfilled when we positively impact the lives of others. Pete's message that we are created to live a life of significance is relevant today and for years to come."
- Joe Moravsky, NBC's American Ninja Warrior
"This book gets to the heart of what truly matters: who you are, what you choose to do in this life, and the impact you make in the lives of others."
- Ryan Thomas, Author, Featured in Entrepreneur Magazine and US News & World Report
"What a refreshing view on self-improvement! From his touching life experiences to telling it like it is, Mr. Smith gives a different perspective on being a better version of yourself. I devoured this book in two days. I was nodding my head in agreement, laughing at his antidotes and reluctantly admitting my own faults. He offers real-life applications for reaching your next personal or professional goals."
- The Daily Scramble
"A truly inspiring, thoughtful, well written, insightful compilation that applies common sense to contemporary issues involving life and how our personal behavior influences our significance by the choices we choose and do not choose to make. The content holds meaning for everyone who reads it and EVERYONE should READ IT!"
- J. Black, Amazon Reader
"Wonderfully written analysis of human complacency today. Choosing a life of meaning is a choice and with that choice we must overcome obstacles that thwart the human spirit. Many of these are discussed by examples which hold us back from a life of significance. The author's personal experiences in the book provide a meaningful basis to re-evaluate our present thoughts and future behavior."

From the Author
Significance. The idea of achieving that for your life may seem far-fetched, a "nice to have" but not really practical. Nothing can be further from the truth.
My intent in writing Dare to Matter was to reveal the framework of living life through a lens of significance. This book isn't filled with unrealistic ideologies. Rather, it reveals a life of significance in a practical, tangible way, leaving the reader with concrete next steps to take throughout the book.
Society continues to tell us that our greatest endeavor is the achievement of both success and happiness.
Garbage. I believe that if success and happiness is your end goal, you will be settling for less than what you were created for.
You were meant to be significant, and Dare to Matter shows you how.

Yes, you guessed it, we are social animals and we constantly contribute to each other’s lives. That's why I think everybody should read this book.
I'm so convinced about it that quite recently I've sent an email to my 1,400 subscribers with the below message:
"
I've recently finished a great book, "Dare to Matter" by Pete Smith. A few sentences moved me almost to tears, because I felt like they described my coaching experience. Pete said:
"The greatest level of fulfillment is when you witness someone you've trained, coached and loved getting their hand raised in victory. That is the ultimate high."
That's so very true. I felt exactly this when one of my client finished his dissertation (he has been procrastinating with this for ages), or when another lost over 20 pounds and got to the weight he hadn't seen on the scale for the last ten years, or when another solidified her writing habit to the point where she didn't need my help anymore in writing her memoir.
But I feel the same, even if to a slightly lesser degree, when I read an email from my reader, a Quora comment or a review of my book that says that my writing made the difference in one person's life.
That was the reason I started my Gratitude Wall. I wanted to collect those moments of feeling "high."
However, this feeling verily goes from a very intimate place in my soul. I love to help people. That's what drives me. That's why another words of Pete pierced my heart:
"What they gave back to me far outweighed my investment in them. They gave me meaning, purpose, and fulfillment."
This is what you gave me back when you took action because of what I've written and let me know about it.
Thank you for allowing me to invest in you. This investment might not have been so direct, like in case of my coaching clients, but it was meaningful in the same way. Thank you for giving me back meaning, purpose and fulfillment.
I was through a very tough time in the last few months.
I rarely felt like going out of bed and doing anything. But every time I got a new encouraging message from my reader, every time I read "Thank you!" in a Quora comment, every time I added a new positive review to my Gratitude Wall, I felt I need to keep going for my readers, if not for anything else.
"
But when I try to download it he demands my email adress, probably so he can sell it to people trying to sell me stuff, why else?
How american. Makes me feel the whole book is a fake.
