- Reviewed in the United States on January 27, 2014Style: UKULELE WITH BAGPattern: UkuleleVerified PurchaseMy 2 year old son loves watching me play the Ukulele and always wants to join in but he doesn't know how to handle it with care and I was not about to let him thrash my expensive one. I began searching for a descent ukulele for him to play for a good budget price. Since I have been playing for so long, no generic ukulele would do and would probably just annoy me. I can't stand those cheap plastic ukulele they sell to tourists in Hawaii. I really liked the reviews on this uke and the price is very nice too so I took a chance and bought it. IT IS FANTASTIC FOR THE PRICE!!! This uke rocks. For a 25 dollar uke, the sound is really good. It's not exactly all that bright and vibrant sounding but c'mon, it was only 25 dollars. I like that it is all wood and the sound is nice but my favorite things about this uke are 1: the action is very low. I love how low the action is, it's about the same as my 200 dollar Kala uke. 2 and definitely my favorite thing about this uke is the mechanical tuners. This thing holds its tune very well, of course it takes a couple of days for the strings to stretch out before it does that though.
Overall, this is a very good ukulele and I find myself quite often sitting and playing this uke like I would my more expensive one. I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone interested in learning how to play. The low action makes it very easy to play. The mechanical keys keeps it in tune and lastly, the sound is really quite good.
Take it from someone who knows a thing or two about ukuleles. If you're interested in a cheap ukulele to learn to play on, this one is great. Oh yea, and I've had this uke for about a month now and it has handled everything my 2 year old has thrown at it and it still looks great!
- Reviewed in the United States on July 14, 2015Style: UKULELE WITH BAGPattern: UkuleleVerified PurchaseI purchased this ukulele two years ago when my husband asked me what I wanted for my birthday and I could not be more pleased with it! I am most definitely NOT a musical person, but have been able to learn how to play simple songs and entertain my family with ease. That alone is a wonderful and amazing thing to me! I passed the last month and a half of my pregnancy learning how to strum this little instrument and my nearly two year old daughter still adores it. This ukulele has been MANHANDLED. Between my four year old and my nearly two year old, it has been dropped, dragged around, carried by the strings, and tuned by children seemingly hundreds of times. I only in the last few days realized that I am still playing on the SAME set of Aquila strings that I put on it the same week that I purchased it. Even though I have to tune it constantly, they still sound pretty good. Once I get a new set, it will be fantastic! If you are looking for a great ukulele to begin with, this is definitely one well worth your money. My eight year old has a Hilo that we bought at the same time and my husband (a drummer and sound tech) and I feel that this Diamond Head has a much richer sound. The Hilo has also held up well, just for comparison. Additionally, it has spent plenty of time on the girls' bedroom floor...much to my chagrin. This is a wonderful little ukulele that is constructed well and is sure to please. Is it high quality? No. If you are an experienced musician coming from a top brand guitar selection, you may not be pleased with it because your expectations would be better met by an uke that would cost you $200+. If you are simply looking for something fun and small, you are making a great choice in this one. Happy strumming!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 30, 2013Style: UKULELE WITH BAGPattern: UkuleleVerified PurchaseI recently ordered 5 different ukulele models while researching products for my senior adult choir at church as I wanted to give them a few options.
Okina UK100 Soprano Ukulele with Rosewood Fingerboard - Natural
Diamond Head DU-150 Ukulele, Natural
Mahalo U-30OR Painted Economy Soprano Ukulele (Orange)
Lanikai LU-11 Soprano Ukulele
Kala KA-15S Mahogany Soprano Ukulele
The Okina, Diamond Head and Mahalo were all under $30 at the time and within $2 price of each other. Of the three, I thought that the Mahalo was the best offering both visually and in terms of tone quality. The Okina had a poor sound quality even compared to my own 20- and 40-year-old ukuleles (which had the original strings). A string upgrade to Aquila strings helped significantly, but even then, the Okina still had a far worse sound quality at this price level.
The Diamond Head and Mahalo both sounded better even with the stock strings, and each includes a nice (for this price) little gig bag. The Mahalo has the most "island" look to my eyes and the best sound. Much of the sound can probably be attributed to the strings which are more substantial than the Diamond Head's. That being said, it still makes financial and practical sense to get the Mahalo since it's so near the same price (compared to the Diamond Head) and has heavier strings already installed. I've also reviewed the Lanikai and Kala on their own pages.
On an almost irrelevant note, the Diamond Head was the only instrument of the 5 to arrive in something close to actual tuned-up string tension. It takes several days for these nylon strings to stretch and settle in, but I didn't have to retune the Diamond Head so much because it was already virtually in tune. This would not be my primary concern with purchasing an instrument for myself but may be a significant headache-saver for a non-musician parent purchasing a ukulele for a young child.

Style: UKULELE WITH BAGPattern: UkuleleVerified PurchasePara el precio y la calidad, genial para probar.
Got A UkuleleReviewed in the United Kingdom on July 3, 20173.0 out of 5 stars Reasonable but flawed.
Style: UKULELE WITH BAGPattern: UkuleleVerified PurchaseReasonble for the ultra cheap end, but a little flawed.
PROS - resonant body, well dressed fret ends, position markers on the front and side, tuners that actually work
CONS - Strings are appalling and you WILL want to change them. Gig bag us pointless, and most of all the price is not right. You can get an Octopus Soprano with far better strings and neck for £10 less than this. When you consider you will be topping £40 with a better set of strings in the bargain, that makes this VERY expensive for what it is..

Angel GarayReviewed in Mexico on December 30, 20165.0 out of 5 stars Muy buen instrumento.

Luis Ramírez AndradeReviewed in Mexico on February 6, 20185.0 out of 5 stars Hecho para principiantes

Style: UKULELE WITH BAGPattern: UkuleleVerified PurchaseThis ukulele is the first instrument I have bought, so at this stage I can't make comparisons, though it sounds fine to me and now the strings have "settled in" it stays in tune well enough.
It came well packed and quickly. Thank you.
