this movie was terrible. i thought because it had 2 big name actors in it, it must be good. wrong wrong wrong. i fell asleep before the action even happened, and then woke up to the ending. my husband suffered through it since he's all about alien type movies, he was so disappointed. even the way they spoke in the movie drove me nuts, it just all seemed to fake and even the graphics of them in space were just to fake. i can see why it was a 99 cent rental
Decent enough effects and good acting weren't enough to save this. Starts out pretty good but maybe 15 minutes in it gets ridicules, and completely insults your intelligence. I just groaned when the scientist starts poking and coaxing the (growing) alien life form with only a gloved hand. That one thing goes so far past suspending your beliefs to enjoy a movie, that it quickly skips past absurd, going straight into simply being stupid. No wonder it was only $0.99.
So I was a bit put off by the reviews but for 99 cents, figured I would give it a go anyway. I didn't find it that bad - it wasn't great but it was worth the money and time to watch it. Good CGI, actors were good and the story was ok (predictable ending though). All in all, I would probably recommend it to folks if they like sci fi/alien and the movie stars involved.
It's got a stellar cast, a cool premise and that's about it. I really expected a lot more from this movie, but it just doesn't deliver. It's slow and plodding at times. Other times it's just ridiculously stupid. This movie is not scary at all. There isn't a single scene that makes you jump.
Amazing 4K quality. Reference material for your home cinema. As for movie , I loved it but it scared the crap out of my wife who could only watch 40 mins of. This is what Alien Covenant should have been.
Was not thrilled to see this movie when I saw the trailer but hubby wanted to watch it and it was .99 cents, so glad I never bought the movie and glad I did not pay full price for the movie either. Was not a fan.
