This is a book I can embrace and apply right now. I can make 10 minutes in my day for mindfulness habits. I started the mindfulness techniques as soon as I learned about them, choosing the habit suggestions that I can relate to or already doing now and applying more to mindfulness. I have noticed a difference in my daily mental health and how I interact with others. I appreciate the morning suggestions and ways I can start my day positively before getting out of bed. This has been a life saver tool for me. A recommended book regardless of where you are in mindfulness practices.

10 minutes is the key. If you’re considering buying this book, you obviously want to change something about yourself. Perhaps you’d like to reduce stress levels, get more enjoyment out of each day, or build some habits that have long term benefits. The traditional way is to set a bold resolution on New Year’s Day and commit to a change from that day forward. It seldom works.
Instead, as suggested in this book, commit 10 minutes each day to a specific action that will help you achieve one of your more general objectives. It doesn’t and shouldn’t be too challenging. As noted early in the book, you can’t possibly commit to doing all of the suggested habits each day. So, pick out a couple, try them for a few days and see how they feel. If you’re not getting a sense of feeling better, try some others. In time, you may find that you’ve expanded the time for some of these habits to more than 10 minutes. You may come up with some new personal habits, beyond these 71, that you find beneficial.
The book is an easy read and you may be tempted to read it in a day or two. However, I suggest applying a variation of the 10-minute rule. Read about 10 pages each day. That’ll take you about 3 weeks to read the entire book, but in so doing you’ll be reminded of the concepts for 21 days and will be more likely to retain them. Getting into a 10-minute habit to begin something new is a worthwhile habit in itself.
Good book with some worthwhile ideas that most anyone can use. So why do I give it a 4 rating? Well, about a week after I bought the book, I got an e-mail encouraging me to write a favorable review and post it. Sorry, but asking for compliments makes any compliment I might offer to be perceived as insincere.

I thought this book was great. I had been wanting to learn more about mindfullness and this book answered my questions and gave me bunches of ideas and resources. Because of this book, I've subscribed to the Calm app and have developed several new habits using this. I also purchased the Audible version of this book and listen in the car. True, this may not be truly practicing mindfulness driving and listening, but it's a great way to reinforce what I've learned and just becoming more mindful. The book includes a free website and other links, well worth the money!

This book has 71 suggestions to be more mindful in your daily life. It is a quick read so you can start practicing what you learn immediately.
The book starts off by asking readers on how they can remain in the present when you have to plan, schedule, achieve goals and live life in a world that is focused on the future.

Life is absolutely busy & hectic and you may feel a little lost with your mess while you try to keep up with your daily routines and those extra things - technology & expectations may just have made it worst for us whereas we are drifting apart from our human relations.

This book will help you get back on track with the lessons in mindfulness - practice it daily, it takes only a few minutes to do but will change your life to make it more peaceful. You can practice most of the techniques anytime & anywhere - they are simple to grasp and do.

Just OK... if using as a refresher then does just that. Absolutely nothing new and always find it disturbing and not useful when a book has more links of he said/she said versus original thoughts. Again like it for what is is, an easy read and offering reinforcement of what may be already known. Being mindful, I will keep it at that.

I found this book very helpful. I have attempted to be more focus in the moment when driving and when I am at work at times. When the world hasn't work out quite the way I want, I have focus on the moment and it has work out quite pleasantly.

His book is more geared to Buddhists but as a Christian I find it quite helpful. When I focus on the here and now, I tend to get a sense of gratitude and appreciation for God and life in general. Good Reads has me at highlighting 29 passages. Since I most often might highlight 2 or 3 passages of a book , Mr. S.J. Scott should take a moment to give himself a pat on the back.

I have both the kindle and the audible versions. The narration for the audible book is superb; get it for that reason alone. A lot of audible books have a poor narrator. The ten minute mindfulness narrative has a even pace, and her voice is even, and easy to listen to.

Content: One of the earlier reviews listed a handful of the mindfulness topics covered; I won’t repeat it here. But - nutshell, it’s a great book and worth owning, reading, and re-reading.

J'adore!

Reviewed in the United Kingdom on May 22, 2017
Steve and Barry's last book Declutter Your Mind was a tour de force in how to live a more balanced, less stressful life in all areas. With this latest book they've condensed the essence of mindfulness down into easy daily mindfulness routines. And once again, they've made sure that you can't fail. Instead of just suggesting 'get up earlier' for instance, they show you HOW to get up earlier and more importantly, how to sustain the habit. If you want an introduction to mindfulness, to lead a more conscious, be less stressed or worried this book is for you. And if you've tried mindfulness before and never made it stick, Steve and Barrie's simple, doable and sustainable exercises may be the answer.
