The main character hails from Holland but her heart is in Hawaii. She has a steamy affair with an island native while she is having a tepid affair with a bisexual after she had a failed affair with a hypnotist who stole one of her chakras. What? Wait. I am so confused. Someone take this book. Please.

Not sure I believe everything. Plus, really frustrated and disgusted with her when she gave some guy all her $$ and made herself homeless and car-less. With a young child. After she supposedly learned so much and was so full of wisdom.

I have not smoked pot in 30 years or more, but this book would best be heard(I did the audible) while stoned. She kept talking about her "buddy," which I finally figured out was her body. It is written in romance lit floridity. My buddy felt like a ripe melon lingering on his dark wavy thighs in the honeysuckle breeze. It is a new age "Eat Pray Love," subbing a Hawaiian dude. I'd give it five stars if I had some weed. Unfortunately, I listened to it in my car.

When I ordered this book it was based on the 5 star reviews posted and sounded like one women's interesting journey into realms unexplored.
By the time I finished I was flummoxed at the praise. She simply seemed confused, naïve and taken into strange and perhaps even dangerous situations, continuing to return to them at the final peril of her own financial ruin. Yes, she shared an odyssey that aligns with my own beliefs in an afterlife, but this one was rather dark at times. I believe I would have walked away sooner and moved on.

I love the way this story unfolds from the perspective of the author, as she weaves together stories of her past and her wisdom and training as an intuitive with her recent experience with the afterlife. It reads like the best memoirs in that you hear about the author's unconventional path. But it is also a compelling drama about connection, love, and loss, where you are drawn through the book by your curiosity about what is real and how the story will end. I strongly recommend it for your summer beach reading!

A beautifully bizarre, slow motion introspective flashback of a romantic ghost story, or a haunted love story. Every chapter is a unique and gripping moment in time, encapsulated like a snow globe meant for adults.

Well worth a read - you might even want to read it again for the quality of writing. It's very poetic.
