Top Customer Reviews
The cleaner arrived quickly, as promised, so I gave it a spin that night. Warm water, a little squirt of jewelry detergent, and I was ready to go.
The first round I washed 4 rings, 2 bracelets, 2 necklaces and a watch band (I ran one cycle per each side of the watch as to not get the face wet.). The picture below is the water. Ugh! I thought I had been cleaning them well!
The next day my sister-in-law, a nurse, came over. I her wash her watch band an rings- you could literally see the dirt streaming off of the watch she wears for work. It was simultaneously disgusting and amazing.
Buy this, and wash everything. I'm tempted to go door to door in my neighborhood offering jewelry cleaning services!
Worked great for getting the nasty grunge out of the nose pads on my eyeglasses. We haven't used it on my wife's jewelry much because of the various recommendations out there about putting gemstones (and synthetic ones) into an ultrasonic cleaner. Don't know details. So I am pretty happy so far (a couple weeks).
BUT DANGER DANGER DANGER: One of my pairs of eyeglasses has a dark blue paint coating on the metal front piece. The glasses are 3 years old and had a couple of small, but obvious paint chips from wear and tear. After use in the ultrasonic cleaner a few times, there are *many* more places where the paint is gone. Took a while for me to realize it, but now it's pretty obvious. Apparently there were a lot of very small rough spots in the paint after 3 years and the ultrasonics "cleaned them" off the glasses entirely. Which is what you want when the imperfections are dirt and grunge. But I couldn't see these imperfections and I got surprised. My unpainted metal frames had no problems.
Anyway -- it's proof that the cleaner works. Really well. So watch out.
I'm still glad we got the cleaner. I guess I should have read more about ultrasonic cleaners before putting those glasses in. The nose pads certainly look nice. See photo.
No I wasn't paid for my review, no I didn't receive a discount - I paid full price and even bought this accidentally. I do love to give honest and true product reviews as I base a lot of my purchases on other peoples reviews. Please let me know if this review was helpful!
It did clean my jewelry well (after adding a couple drops of dish detergent as others have suggested) but I would recommend spending the extra $5 to get the version of this same brand that will run for 8 minutes (480 seconds) at a time. I accidentally ordered this one instead and it really is obnoxious having to restart it every 3 minutes, because it has definitely taken longer than 3 minutes to clean anything I've used it on so far.
