I haven’t tried Plant Therapy lemon myrtle as a topical solution, but I know that any brand of lemon myrtle ought to be diluted, especially for sensitive skin. I noted some light burning when using the YL oil (a drop in a quarter-size amount of lotion) but it didn’t leave any rashes. (It should be noted that YL recommends a 1/1 dilution with a carrier oil but Plant Therapy recommends a 0.7 dilution — it will definitely irritate the skin at full concentration.)
Used in a diffuser, this stuff does a nice job cleaning up lingering odors in a room. I will definitely turn to Plant Therapy for my lemon myrtle side projects. I’ll have to experiment with more of their oils.
10-4-19 - This lemon myrtle might be good for others but it was not good for me. I took it in a 1:5 ratio of olive oil to lemon myrtle respectively, as suggested in the comments, to dim down any adverse reaction. It does give a brief tingle upon application but nothing as strong as what it would be like if you took it by itself. Unfortunately, I burst out in a delayed rash after applying everyday for a week. I believe it was related to the lemon myrtle application because the rash only occurred in the spots on my face where I applied the lemon myrtle but it could have been related to another new food item I was eating around that time as well (a shiitake mushroom blend). In not taking any chances, I stopped both. However again, I would apply a dot of the lemon myrtle mixture on specific spots of my face, and the primary spots where I was applying the lemon myrtle mixture is where I burst into a very pronounced itchy red rash.
I will definitely test this lemon myrtle again, in the future, this time only applying once on one spot of another part of my body to see how I respond, if it was indeed the lemon myrtle that caused the rash or something else. If my review hasn't updated to reflect better results, then you could safely assume this review is valid for my reaction to this oil and that you should proceed with caution for at least a week of application to see if you have any adverse reaction to this oil.
