**Edit Update**Finally heard back from Roller Derby CS and they are sending us a replacement pair. I have updated my review from 1 star to 4 stars thanks to the great - although a bit slower than I’m used to - customer service and resolution. Hopefully the new pair last a bit longer.These seemed great when we first got them for our 6yr old son for his birthday because he wanted to learn to roller blade but after only 2 short times using them we went to put them on and the plastic clamps to tighten/loosen the roller blades cracked and broke off making them unusable. Contacted the manufacturer via email - no response. Called the CS line and talked to another rep who asked for photos of the product - sent the email and haven’t heard anything. You get what you pay for apparently…

Great beginner rollerblades! My 7 year old wears a size 13.5 or 1. Based on other reviews, I bought him these Roller Derby Tracer skates in size 2-5 and they fit perfectly! The buckles don’t tighten down as firmly as I had expected, but my son says it fits and feels fine. He has ice skated in hockey skates for years, but I couldn’t justify spending over $100 on hockey in-line skates without knowing if he’d actually like inline skating. He loves it! I got these on amazon on sale for ~$30. For that price these are amazing. My son is able to skate fast around the neighborhood and says his feet don’t hurt. He fell a couple times the first day and nothing broke. He no longer falls, and uses them daily with no complaints. I’d recommend these for beginner inline skaters.

1. Size runs on the lower end - so a 2-5 is actually 1-4
2. WHeels take a long time to break in. At first they are going to be hard as hell and wont move .... but as time goes by they get easier to rolll... however after using it over 20 times they still havent broken in and the wheels rotate like there is some friction still going on.
