I’ll admit, science isn’t my strongest suit. However, I knew I had to grab this book when the description stated there was no need to have a science background in order to understand it. To my relief this was absolutely true. The book is simply put and will have your mind working overtime as you are introduced to so many concepts that aren’t necessarily covered in school. The author even questions some theories, which allows the reader to question even more of what they were taught while looking at things from a new perspective.
This is a great leisurely read. I was a bit surprised because usually physics books weigh a little heavy. Rather, you can comfortably read this book in an afternoon and have great topics of conversation for dinner with friends.
I’d recommend this book to anyone that is interested in physics, but is afraid the information will go over their heads. You’ll certainly enjoy this book.

First thing I will say is that although I like physics and science, I don't have the passion for it to do further research on the theories that the author talks about. I could definitely tell that the author did an extensive amount research to put this book together by the sprinkled quotes, references used and recommended books. I also liked the illustrations that were strategically placed through out the book. I thought the quotes were particularly interesting since they were from so many different people from different time periods. Some of the people I easily recognized like Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, Stephen Hawking and Leonardo di Vinci. Others like Anaxagoras, Rene Descartes, Niels Bohr and Karl Popper I had never heard of, so I had to read their small snippets.

I appreciated the easy layman terms that the author used to explain the theories but still struggled wrapping my mind around some concepts. I understood how the force was the same on either end of the horse and cart but wasn't able to apply it when he discussed the tug of war. It took me a few times of reading the passage before I was able to see what the author was talking about. Overall, I feel it is a good read for anyone who has a passion for science, physics and learning new concepts.

There are books that just challenge you and your mind on a whole new level and “Attraction: Secrets of Gravity” by Reuven Nir is one of them. This book truly bugs the mind through a series of information and then some.

I have learned quite a lot from reading this book. I am not really a person who considers myself as an avid fan of physics—and anything that is related to it, but this book offered information that surprisingly piqued my interest.

The writing was precise, although some of them may have put me into minor confusions. Still, the content was easily understandable. The concept was clear and it very well taught me things that I wasn’t able to encounter during my high school and college days wherein Physics was part of the curriculum. I specifically loved the way gravity was described and how it relates to everything that this book introduces. A very well thought-out book as a whole.

Reuven Nir questions the very walls in which we put physics. Attraction: Secrets of Gravity is best described by the illustration about the stars. When we look into a clear dark night sky we see stars twinkling bright in the heavens. But the light we see symbolizes the light these stars put out years ago. These same stars may not even exist on the day you view them. So physics as we know it is only perceived by the senses we have available to us. Therefore, does that mean others cannot exist, like music exists but not to the deaf man.

Nir returns to the basic questions of the structure and motion of matter with a more abstract philosophy and dares us to think pass what already exist to reach for the unknown. Nir’s attitude in writing is not seeking praise, but one of challenging you to prove him wrong.

Easy to understand without the need for a vast knowledge of scientific terms
