I started reading YA books about 10 years ago. I fell in love with the work of Rachel Caine almost immediately. Her depth of characters and their development over time especially across multiple books represents a story arc all unto its own. You cannot not love these characters as they struggle against tyrannical corruption in the name of knowledge. The great library series represents Mz. Caine at the pinnacle of her powers, rendering a world and populating with real people.
