I love this mini controller. I purchased it in March 2018 so I've had some time to play around with it and actually used it at two small gigs with no problem. It doesn't have all the features of a full size controller but the features that it does have are enough to rock a party where scratching is not necessary. It's also a great starter controller for dj's on a budget or just for practicing before you invest in a more expensive controller. Numark is known for making quality products and this controller is no exception. I was skeptical at first but I'm so glad I purchased it.

Took a little getting used to, and I'm not super-crazy about the software, but I've only been using it for a few weeks, so maybe I just need more practice.

The one thing I do want to point out is that it's well-made and compact. It fits in a laptop bag and doesn't require much space. My only two critiques are (1) I wish the headphone jack and USB jack were in the center, either front or rear, because otherwise you are forced to set up your output on the left and your input on the right. Sometimes you don't have that option, like on a train or on your lap. (2) I don't like having to learn a new startup-order. Basically, you have to start the Serato software, THEN plug in the DJ2GO, THEN start your media manager.

    But it's a good unit and I think it's a great value.

I think most people give props to this thing as a practice, entry-level controller. I bought this thinking that maybe it could be a useful accessory for a Traktor DVS setup: using the volume knobs for gain, playing with FX, and easy switching between the digital decks and live input (for vinyl). I used the config on the Numark website to get it to work with Traktor, and had to tweak a few assignments but honest to god it's surprising how well this works.

This weekend I did a house party but didn't feel like hauling 100 lbs of equipment, so I packed just this and a mixer in a duffel bag. Did a 3 hour set, and it got the job done!

Honestly I don't think people give enough credit to how much versatility this thing has. This does about as much as the Kontrol X1 at 1/3 the cost. If I had to knock it in a few areas: Serato Lite sucks, the construction is toyish and cheap (plastic), and the jogwheels and pitch faders are kinda janky... but c'mon - it's $70!

To me, this was money very well spent.

The DJ2Go2 is a great portable controller for either a backup or perhaps an airplane portable in a bag or backpack. Probably the best as far as small portables go, because of it's deck layout/functionality and software choices. Numark has put their stock behind Serato DJ software for the most part, but there are probably a few software choices this will work with.

[Update] The DJ2Go2 Touch is the upgrade to the original. It added touch capacitive jog wheels, enabling the ability to scratch on it with a finger touch on the silvered portion of the jog wheels. You can still nudge/pitch bend on the black edges. This ultra portable controller is great for on-the-go carrying in a car or airplane. Perfect for practicing without dragging a big controller out, plug in your laptop, portable speaker and headphones and you are good to go. Make sure you have the drivers necessary for it to work with your software and computer.

    Specs.:
-4 trigger pads for each side for hot cues, auto beat loop buttons(2,4,8,16 beats), Manual loop(in,out, cancel, reloop) and a 4 bank sampler que. All controlled by the Pad mode feature in the center.
-Jog wheels for pitch bending only, no scratching, but the wheels have good response.
-Browsing knob also has great response and load buttons to the left and right decks.
-Level knobs replace the "up-faders" for each channel.
-Crossfader has an even curve, easy to blend tunes utilizing both the level knobs and crossfader.
-Headphone Cue buttons for listening to both sides. Master volume is always heard, but is much quieter than when the cue button is active. Easy to beatmatch through the headphones!
-Master Out comes from a 3.5mm jack(I use a 3.5mm, male to male into my JBL Charge 3).
-Headphones Out is also a 3.5mm.
-Master volume knob for output volume
-Cue Level knob for Headphone volume

A great portable unit, a more complete unit than the Hercules that is $10 cheaper(IMO), but I just looked at the Herc, have not used it. Plus the Hercules uses DJuced software only.

The DJ2Go2 is built well, with a smooth fader and quality-feeling buttons, pitch sliders, and dials. The browse knob lets you find and load tracks to each side of the deck without touching your laptop. What makes this controller fully-functional is the built in audio interface; because of the interface, all you need is a laptop to run the software and speakers and you can get to Djing. The unit comes with Serato Lite which has a decent amount of features built-in and is good enough to get a mixing session in. You can also use other Dj software thanks to the DJ2Go2 being MIDI compliant. Is it a pro level controller? No, and it doesn't try to be. There are no tone controls, the dials aren't touch-sensitive, and like the original DJ2Go, the 2 still has a (high quality) plastic enclosure. What it is though is a high quality controller that gives you so much for just $70.

For the price, it's pretty good for what it does. Plastic and lightweight. Plastic knobs and buttons. Any DJ worth his/her salt could definitely get the job done with it if they had to. Fits perfectly on a 13" macbook pro.

Havent' tried it with Virtual DJ but it can probably be mapped to it if there isn't a mapping definition for it already. Works with Serato Intro out of the box. If you have the paid version of Serato DJ, that will work too. You can only "skratch" when a song is paused. When a song is playing, the jog wheels enter pitch bend mode. They are not touch sensitive. Basically, use it to scrub through a track when in pause mode or pitch bend when song is playing.

No mic input. No split cue. Headphone output is fairly loud (only tested it in a quiet bedroom). Only 1/8" output for headphone, a separate 1/8" output for master. Bus powered from the usb jack, which is convenient. RCA to 1/8" plug and USB 2.0 cable (A-male to mini-B) were included.

I've been messing around with music awhile before I dabbled into DJ-ing without a controller. With the Serato DJ Lite software (replaces Intro), this thing which I thought was a toy is actually an impressive controller. Buttons are clicky and responsive (no soft buttons that usually wear over time), shift functions and jog dial are on point. Yes, this is missing the trims, FX knobs, etc., but it does work well for its size AND with a built in sound card so no load on the laptop.

    Get it.

This DJ controller is amazing! How do Numark do it for the money?
This is my first time using a DJ controller and Sorato, although I first started in mobile discos when I was 17... I’m 59 now! Ive moved from Vinyl Records, through CDs and to MP3 files.
I still "Play Out" a little and its a lot more convenient to carry my music on may laptop than in flight-case. I currently have 160,000 tracks on a 1TB SSD drive. (With backups on an external HD in a safety deposit box at my bank!)
I have just got a DBX 166XS Dual Compressor/Limiter /Gate because I found the sound from the DJ2GO2 just a little harsh and some gentle compression and limiting gives the sound a nice rich creaminess in the vocals
I was using Mixmeister to play in my mp3 files but this is so much better.
I’m using Serato DJ lite with the DJ2GO2 and it seems fine.
I was considering using MusicCloud streaming service to mix from at home but I've changed my mind on that.
