I purchased and watched the first episode. This show has haunted me for the past 36 hours. It is well done. The acting is great and the story (or what I could gather if it) it intriguing. I can't wait for next Wednesday! Shout out to the cast for creating such a twist- o-flex gang of chracters. #respect I might have to do what I did With Big Little Lies and read the book before I go nuts. Update: we are now only one episode away from the series wrap up. This show is fantastic with a story line that makes you want to take a shower. My hipster friends and I have been talking about it during our lunch break and we can't decide if this is the best thing we've ever seen or if we all need to get a group rate on ink blot tests.
I have become totally obsessed with this series from the first episode!!! Jessica Biel's character is so interesting and unpredictable It drew me in right away and is keeping me on the edge of my seat waiting for the next episode to unfold!!! The mystery just keeps building as they give us little crumbs when we want the whole pie, teasing answers that do not come as the plot twists and turns you down a slippery slope just begging for more!!! One of the most provocative television series since True Detective season one!! It hurts so good!!
Jessica Biel is spellbinding as Cora Bender! She brings the character to life perfectly! Love Bill Pullman and Christopher Abbott in their roles as well. They are amazing in their supporting roles and give Jessica the support she needs to develop Cora without overshadowing - only contributing to the growth of her character. The story keeps you guessing and just when you think you have it figured out, it goes off in a different direction. It's rare to not have the story completely figured out within the first 5 minutes these days. Beautifully directed and fabulous acting from everyone! Hope this gets some nominations come award season.
On episode 3 now and still as confused as the 1st and 2nd episodes. Each episode leaves me wanting more. Kind of bummed this is a limited series with only 8 episodes. Wish they'd find a way to make it a regular season with at least 12 episodes.
There's a book also (The Sinner: A Novel (TV Tie-In)) which I'm tempted to read now as I'm dying to know what everyone else wants to know—"Why did she kill him?"
I am obsessed with this series. I really think Jessica Biel does an excellent job. Her acting is so authentic and believable. This story has a real creepy quality to it, but it keeps me wanting more. I like all the other actors in this show so far. But Jessica Biel is on her game!
I saw the first episode and was hooked. Jessica Biel is an amazing actress as is her husband. And its a very relate able piece of art that deals with drug abuse, death, grief, sexual abuse. I found myself crying in each episode because it was helping me process my own internal battles. truly worth the money i spent on each episode :)
I almost had it figured out...but episode 7, it still surprised me. So I'm just waiting for the last episode. I'm wanting to see the conclusion and how the story wraps up. I am trying really hard to read the book. Its translated from Germanic believe, and its scrappy translation in my opinion
