Great!
I love my guitar. As you can see in my picture the color of the wood looks more consistent through out which made me happy. The picture as advertised looks like it has some orange under the strings. I plays nice and stays in tune.

What an amazing bass guitar! This Washburn Taurus Series T25 (5 String bass guitar) was purchased to replace a beginner bass guitar that I really enjoy but have outgrown (name withheld to protect the innocent). I wanted a change, I wanted a bass with long sustain and more Jazz quality than my original. I wanted a single piece body instead of a bolt on neck. I wanted a five string instead of a four string, and I wanted to be able to do more with it. I tested out many MANY other bases, some has costly as $2000 and as cheap as $150 and although the much higher end models appealed to me in a great many ways, I kept coming back to the Washburn. Its single neck/body construction and fantastically warm tonal wood simply appealed to my inner bassist. The neck is thin enough to be able to be comfortable and the frets are low enough to be fast and allow my slides to sound nearly fretless (always going to have steps if you have frets). The knurled knobs are a great addition, and the keys are amazingly smooth and responsive. I have already had many hours of play time on this beauty and have loved every minute of it.

Please do not get discouraged from the following message however, if you do not know how to set up a brand new guitar that is factory fresh, I suggest you take it to a good luthier FIRST before you even tune it. The strings came loose (a good thing!) and the neck was straight, I took about 30 minutes to properly set all the strings and my truss rod. Before I touched anything, I did check the fret leveling and found that I did not have to fix anything; every fret was level, even and rounded beautifully. The finger board had no scars, mars or scuffs to speak of and the inlays were exceptional. Once I did start to tune it in and found the correct height to prevent a majority of the typical buzz, I was happy to see that the strings were not so high at the 24th fret as to make the guitar useless in that register (another reason I wanted the Washburn).

This has been one of the best guitar purchases I've ever made. I love this guitar and even if I don’t break it, I will be buying more from them. I want to see what else they can do with strings and wood! 9.75/10 STARS (I never give 10/10 because there is always room for improvement).

I owned one of these about 10yrs. ago, & regretted selling it so much that I just bought another one. The setup on it is very nice right out of the box, just lowered the strings a bit. The neck is quite wide - wider than my other basses. But it's smooth as glass & easy to play. The fit & finish is excellent. Ends of the frets are smooth. The neck-thru design and ebony fretboard are usually only found on much pricier models. The pickups sound great - either quiet & mellow, or punchy & distorted. You can't go wrong with this bass. Highly recommended.

It's not the Bass I purchased.
It says that we would receive the T25 5-Strings Bass, however, at the bottom the actual order is for the T24 4-Strings Bass.
Needless to say I was immensely disappointed when my so thought ordered 5 Strings Bass came as a 4 strings one.
I immediately called the vendor, Play Music 123, to complain about it.... and they were very very helpful.
A return label was issued and the 5-String bass is on its way in replacement at no extra cost
    BE AWARE!!!!
I am waiting the 5-strings to arrive... it should come in five days or so. I will update my review later

I absolutly love this guitar. It arrived on the expected day and after opening the box was in its own Washburn gig bag, which I was not expecting. The guitar looks great and plays well straight out of the box, no adjustment needed. I was looking for a replacement for my old Japanese Bass Collection which after 20 odd years playing rehersals and gigging with different bands was in need of at lot of attention. So after reading the
other reviews decided to try this one. I am so happy that I did. Good range of sounds and feels really nice to play. Difficult to put down when rehersals end, worth every penny.

1.0 out of 5 stars Nicht eingestellt, nicht spielbar, man muss zum Techniker
Reviewed in Germany on March 18, 2017

Klasse Service!!!

    2.0 out of 5 stars A dodgy one-off?
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on November 17, 2015
I wouldn't normally buy something such as a new guitar without trying it out first, but after a lot of research and after reading the other reviews on Amazon and many various music websites, and seeing so many positive comments, I decided to bite the bullet.

The bass was well packaged but straight after unpacking I noticed a small scuff on the top of the neck. Just a minor cosmetic irritation so I ignored it. However, after plugging in for my first play, I noticed that ALL four of the volume / tone knobs were crooked. Not one was aligned correctly and only one turned smoothly. The other 3 were stiff and turned unevenly as they rubbed on the body at an awkward angle. After a few turns the chrome plating starting to flake off the top of two of the knobs. Not what I was expecting at all.
After playing around with the sound for a while I also noticed that the tone and volume did not seem to adjust gradually, to blend the pick-up volumes together. The tone adjusted in a kind of “lump”. I.E. instead of blending the sound gradually it was a case of either all or nothing.

The supplied Allen key was rather odd as well. The socket size was about 7 or 8mm, so certainly far too big for any sort of guitar, maybe good for my mountain bike though!

I had heard so many good things about this bass and about Washburn that I even thought I must have received some sort of knock-off so I contacted US Music Corp who own Washburn and sent them photos of the offending control knobs and a description. I received a quick reply stating that “The problems you describe are not typical at all and are surprising to us” and I was told to contact Amazon to arrange a replacement straight away, and that was that.

Amazon made returning it easy and were able to refund for the full cost of the bass but only credited me £4.75 for shipping, so I lost out a bit there as it cost me around £12 to ship it back due to the large size and weight.

Obviously I was very disappointed and still think it was perhaps a dodgy one-off as a result of poor quality control at the factory. The QC sticker stated that it was made in China, whether that means anything or not, as most things are these days.

To try and find something positive, I was very impressed with the sound… once I played around with the awkward tone controls to get what I wanted, but there was no way I was keeping it after spending that amount of money on what I thought would be a good quality instrument.
I would like to give this model another try as I am sure that if the tone and volume control worked as they should then it would be a very nice looking and great sounding bass. However, once bitten twice shy, so I would have to try one in a high street music shop rather than risking getting one on line.
