A rural Ohio hillbilly with an obsession for 'Stradivari', through the magic of social-media, convinces a famous European concert violinist that he can make a copy of one of the most famous and valuable violins in the world.
I had the opportunity to see Strad Style in the theater and enjoyed it so much I bought it on Amazon to watch it again. This is a fun and engaging story, not so much about a violin as about the interesting fellow who is trying to create it... before time runs out. I really enjoyed following Danny through his various trials and tribulations and I never quite knew how it would turn out until the end. Get it. Watch it. Enjoy it!
Nice movie, I love that he is not some uptight guy and it keeps it fun. I do wish there was more footage of the building proses, but I guess that's what youtube is for lol. I also like that he hasn't gone to school for violin making I think that helps him stay down to earth. As a DIY type of guy that likes to build things rather than buy, I can recommend this flick.
Hit all the right chords with me ;) As documentaries go, this one had a creative bent that I greatly appreciate. If anyone is to obsess, its fantastic that the obsession benefits others culturally. Many passages that I enjoyed but cannot go into without being the spoiler. Congrats!
I have been hearing about this documentary for months and the wait was so worth it! Such a fascinating tale, and an equally fascinating subject. I never thought I would find myself crying over a violin, but here I am. Fantastic film!
This was a fantastic movie. Combining Daniel's personality with the process of creating the violin made for a great story. The supporting cast was fantastic as well. Great job by Stefan Avalos for putting this all together. I loved it and I am sure you will too!
I was riveted from the start and on the edge of my seat throughout. Strad Style was is a wonderful story that encompasses so many emotions and so much character. I don't think I've ever wanted a happy ending more badly. Definitely worth the watch.
