Check out that ingredient list. It’s short and sweet (or spicy). Our Snack Mates are made from proteins sourced from lush pastures, raised free of antibiotics or added hormones. This carefully sourced meat is infused with simple ingredients that are all certified gluten-free, paleo-friendly, soy-free, and minimally processed. We thought you’d like that.

All of our products are made using 100% Paleo ingredients and are free of soy, dairy, wheat and added sugar.
Certified Gluten-Free and Certified Paleo. These certificates are obtained through third-party audits through the Gluten Intolerance Group and Paleo Foundation.
We source meat from suppliers that utilize holistic livestock management practices and regenerative farming methods to support large-scale restoration of grasslands . Our beef is 100% grass-fed and grass-finished meaning that cattle are fed only grass throughout their lifetime. Our turkeys and chickens are pasture-raised and free-range. Our pork is all natural and sourced from family-owned farms around the Unites States.

Delicious, Wholesome, Convenient
How did you come up with the idea for this product?
Back when the term 'Paleo' was a foreign word, especially to conventional grocery stores, I embarked on a journey to clean up my lifestyle. The biggest hurdle I faced was finding a snack to satisfy my need for protein that wasn't filled with sugar, sodium, or other miscellaneous 'flavors'. The only solution I came up with was to make it myself without the full expectation that it would have as massive of a following as it does today. Fast forward a year later, I was quitting my job and selling jerky and trail packs to local businesses. Now, you can find The New Primal products in over 6,000 retail locations and I am proud to have created the first Paleo jerky product to hit grocery shelves back in 2012.
What makes your product special?
Beyond being the first, it is also the cleanest meat snack or shelf-stable marinade you'll find in the market. Our meat is very carefully sourced and we leverage that quality by adding pure and delightful ingredients, instead of masking the true flavor by incorporating sugar or soy. What our customers get is the best tasting and most trustworthy snack and/or marinade option for their family.
What has been the best part of your startup experience?
Watching the progression and growth in this category overall and knowing that we are fueling this change has been extremely rewarding. Providing consumers with products they can trust that simplify their cluttered days drives us and working with a team that is nimble and innovative has enabled us to transcend grocery categories with great success. The full package of our startup has been a tremendous experience and it's only just begun.
