- Reviewed in the United States on January 18, 2022Color: Translucent BlueVerified PurchaseThe product was new and looked just as advertised. The price was better than anywhere else, and it even came with a very nice case that was not even in the description! The case is beautiful and was a really huge cherry on top. I tried to buy local, but nobody had a better price, and with free shipping (that arrived much earlier than expected), and the free case, it was honestly just the best deal imaginable.
The guitar itself is beautiful and plays super smooth, definitely a step up from my previous guitars. For an intermediate/upper-intermediate level guitar it is perfect. You are going to be hard pressed to find one as nice (or as beautiful) for the price, and the reviews for this model were good across the board. It definitely delivers a LOT of genre versatility. It has the quality of PRS and truly is a beautifully crafted and stunning guitar. The whammy bar is a nice touch as well.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 29, 2019Color: Translucent BlueVerified PurchaseVery impressed by the overall build quality and performance. Most guitars in this price range need a lot of attention ie, nut filing, sharp fret ends and set up, etc. But not this one. Straight out of the box it had a low action, the strings went through the nut at the proper hight and was intonated from the first fret to the 24th. None of the strings were more than a semi tone out of tune. I assume that some one must have just tuned it before it was shipped because that's rare. I have bought 3 prs guitars through amazon but this was the first from their warehouse. You can buy a more expensive guitar but don't have to! It's beautiful, plays well and sounds good; as it should It's a Prs.

The string action is supple and precise. Real nice weight, not to light. The frets are smooth, no cheese grater effect. Sounds AWESOME. Setup perfect out of the box. I am running it through a Mustang GTX at home fooling around. The only upgrade I added was locking tuners from Graphtech. It is hard to believe you can get this nice of guitar at the 5-6 hundred price point.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 24, 2020Color: Translucent BlueVerified PurchaseGood guitar for the money! Overall, the appearance is pretty good! There are a couple small issues around the binding where it was scraped all the way through to show the wood, but they aren't super noticeable. The sounds is great, and I have no complaints there. Stays in tune pretty well so far even though some of the tuners feel a little bit loose.
Overall, I would recommend this guitar. You pretty much get what you pay for!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 13, 2019Color: Vintage CherryVerified PurchaseI've been playing guitar since 1966. I'm sorry I never tried PRS before. I bought this Vintage Cherry SE Standard 24 to use for busking but it is better than all my other guitars combined, which cost much more, which I will sell now. And I will probably buy the blue one as well when I sell off my other guitars, just to have a spare.
Recently I bought a $2000 superstrat made by another company with ST frets and I had to send it back. Sometimes you DON'T get what you pay for. I was really disappointed with the sound of the pickups, going out of tune and playability. I was shocked. I really wanted to love that guitar because it had every single spec I wanted and I liked the color.
The PRS plays like butter. Was set up better than any guitar I've ever seen. I was going to take 1/2 star away because the tuners are substandard compared with the rest of the guitar, but this $499 guitar sounds and plays better than anything I've played for 50 years. I will probably upgrade the tuners but I'm on the fence right now. These 85/15 pickups are miraculous, warm, open and beautiful. Everything from a nice chimy single coil sound to warm jazzy overdriven cleans. The guitar is very resonant and has an almost human quality in the tone. I love playing it and it brings out the best in me.
I don't play with distortion so I can't comment on that.
It arrived in perfect condition, fit, finish and set up. The G and B strings were slightly out of tune after a 6 day trip from Pennsylvania to Washington State in the cold weather :-). This guitar is a work of art and result of someone that cares about they make to a degree I have never seen. I don't think any player on any level would be disappointed with this guitar.
SE Standards are made in Indonesia. For $300 bucks more you can get one that is made in Korea, the SE Custom 22, that has upgrades (treble bleed) in the volume and tone pots. I thought I would take my chances with the entry-level model because I saw many complaints online about the Korean made ones, which are supposed to be better and commonly used by touring musicians.
Kudos Mr. Smith. Absolute awesomeness. NOBODY does it better than you.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 12, 2020Color: Translucent BlueVerified PurchaseScore! This was perfect for a gift for my husband. He had a second-hand guitar that was super cheap and super scratchy. I don't know much about guitars, but a friend suggested this one as an option within my budget to give as an anniversary gift, and it was PERFECT!! My husband says the quality is great for a beginner because the notes are so much crisper. It looks beautiful, too. We are so pleased with our purchase, and my husband gets to continue his quarantine dream of being a rock star.
