Sherry D. Ramsey is a bestselling speculative fiction writer, editor, publisher, creativity addict and self-confessed Internet geek. When she’s not writing, she reads, gardens, makes stuff, hones her creative procrastination skills on social media, and consumes far more coffee and chocolate than is likely good for her.

Her books include her Nearspace series from Tyche Books; the urban fantasy series Olympia Investigations; science fiction and fantasy for middle grade and young adult readers, and several collections of short fiction. Protecting Nearspace and building alliances

4 1/2 stars. Every galaxy needs people who care enough to right the balance of corporate greed, betrayal and secret alliances that would bring war. Though a little slow in the beginning and dialog was a little simple at first, Ramsey found her rhythm and it became "can't put down until it's finished" tale. I wish the gap between Book 2 and this one was not so long...being an avid reader, it was hard to remember the characters or prior story lines. Continuing characters, but at least each of the books have been complete stories...not cliff hangers.

The author has given us a very satisfying space story, from the viewpoint of a family of long-lived star-rangers. It is set in a militaristic society largely of normals, and is funded by competing corporations. The whole thing works very well.

Then there are aliens. Friendlies and enemies, with their own space capabilities. Whew!

This story is wide-ranging, hugely significant, but is just a snippet from the sagas that I expect to read from the author in this universe.

It is that good.
