This is my second Indonesian made PRS SE- I also own a SE standard in red. The main thing to know about these guitars is that they give extra attention to the fingerboard and fret job. Every guitar that I've ever owned, including Gibsons, required leveling and polishing of the frets and fret ends before they were playable. These PRS SEs come out of the box with perfect fret jobs and smoothly rounded ends that won't feel uncomfortable on your hands. Watch the Core Tek PRS factory tour on Youtube to see the attention this step gets in the factory if you're on the fence about buying an SE.

In general, the fit and finish on this instrument is perfect, no blemishes of any kind. The hardware is also solid and should last a lifetime. I will say, however, that PRS has done one thing on this one that's disappointing- the cover plates on the electronics on the back are surface mounted with a beveled edge instead of being set in flush with the back. Sorry, but it's the one thing on the entire guitar that shouts cheap, and it shouldn't have been done this way.

All in all, a great axe for the money.

I am not a guitar player and purchased this as a gift. However, I am a musician and do know enough about guitars to do research and comparatively shop. This PRS hit all the right buttons.. Easier fretting than a strat or tele. I bought this for a budding serious guitar player so ease of play was as important as sound and quality. Price point was perfect and quality was amazing for the price. This guitar is A LOT prettier in person than online. Very good build quality. This PRS will last a long time and be a special gift.

Will 100% recommend this to a friend. Really beautiful guitar. Was in tune when it arrived. There was a slight fret buzz at the lower fret of lower E string but fixed it with quict triss rod adjustment with the included adjustment kit. The pictures don't do justice to the beautiful color of this guitar, it's very greenish blue and not like in the pictures.

Tuners had tight spots. Unbearable humming noise constantly. Neck is way to fat and flat. This is a good guitar in a 300.00 range. Defiantly nothing but a polished turd

I always wanted a '59 Les Paul Sunburst but didn't buy one (when had the chance in 90s for cheap) because my fingers didn't quite fit the frets and I never got along with one (same with Strat), but this Smith guitar is perfect for me with the 24.5 scale and fret design. Yeah it's so close to Les Paul scale in numbers, but for my left hand, the subtle difference on the PRS makes ALL the difference I'm finding now after playing it..holy crap! Wish I had this years ago.
