~ All the instructions included were in Chinese, No English version or translations, except for minimal instructions on inner box cover to visit their XGecu website, which doesn't load, & translation is not available if it does.
~ I had to search for the instructions elsewhere, finally found them, but still disappointing.
~ I also had to search for the software, but the one I found was an outdated version which corrupted my protected system files, so I Had to run a system files check to restore the protected system files.
~ They also suggest one turn off the firewall on the computer, which I will not do.

Should have known because I paid as much as the product is sold on the website but without all of the attachments. I would avoid this. Bad clone. It does test logic chips though. Just not able to program roms

I like the quality and small size of this programmer. Also it's usefulness. Unfortunately the installation and download of drivers where confusing. Some links seem to not work and some in Chinese. It can be solved with Google translate but still very user unfriendly. Maybe in future drivers can be built into device on small flash memory on PCB? That would be great. Otherwise when getting used to this device and when you feel comfortable with it. It is very good. I recommend.

Setup of software and drivers was fairly straightforward once you use the link to the manufacturer website on the box. One troubling issue was the mandatory request to flash the unit before you could use it. A quick search on the web suggested that this was to eliminate the possibility of the unit being a fake. Reluctantly I went ahead and flashed the unit. All went well. Unit flashed successfully with the latest firmware and is now successfully reading and writing my 24LC64 eeproms. Haven’t tried the SPI interface yet but good to have it on the Plus model.

Bought primarily to write EPROMS and EEPROMS for fixing issues with retro-computers, and possibly read PROMS/ROMS too. It's quick, reliable, easy to use, and is compatible with a large range of chips. It will erase EEPROMS, but obviously can't erase EPROMS (you need a UV eraser for that). Not tried the ICSP interface yet; but may come in handy for writing the bootloader onto ATMega style boards (Blue Pill, Arduino, etc).
