5.0 out of 5 stars 4 years later and still strong!
By Keyhan Almir on March 29, 2022
I've had these headphones for 4 years or so since 2018, and they're great! They are very soft and hold well, however I have long and thick curly hair so sometimes it's a challenge to have a proper hairdo and wear the headset, regardless the activity. Also, they can get warm and make my ears or surrounding sweaty using them in the summer or just for too long. It's convenient to be able to rotate off the cushions by turning them counterclockwise on both sides in case needing replacement, but these have held up very efficiently without needing replacement(not to an extreme, but most of the time I leave them in their case so they don't get scratched for an example)! My only concern, seen in the last photo, is how part of the side of the cushion managed to wedge itself in an awkward position a bit randomly since I purchased it. It hasn't caused anything but I never actively did anything to cause that lol. The "S" on the Soundcore logo came off the case, but I undoubtedly praise this case for how durable it is and the build quality. This is way better than a cloth baggy that not only shields debris but also mild to moderate momentum or force(nothing crazy of course).

Battery life is good and it doesn't just die randomly, myself being an inconsistent user of headphones find these good for watching movies. Only problem I have ever experienced is that it would glitch with the blue light rarely ever, it would glitch with the blue light on and not let me use any buttons on the set unless I plug it in to an outlet or power source which then "resets it".

The headset has a simple, sleek, and smooth feel while held together on an inexpensive body of materials used to construct it. I'd get the upgraded headset they have now, but I think I'm good until these go out on their own. Highly recommend!

5.0 out of 5 stars New Soundcore Vortex
Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on May 8, 2018
So... Soundcore Vortex. Soundcore is a new offshoot from Anker - if their audio products are as good as their battery tech - we have a winner.

I've got one of the little bluetooth waterproof Soundcore speakers and was suitably impressed with that, hence buying these.

I needed some new headphones as my old corded in-ear ones are a bit broken! I fancied trying some over the ear ones for a change to see if they blocked out a bit more external sound. Yep - they sure do. The wife likes to sew, so with her sewing machine clattering away it was most distracting playing on my xbox with in-ear headphones.

Tried these out on the weekend and they blocked out a huge amount of sound. Not 100%, but then I can't have that as I wouldn't hear when she was nagging me then!

I have tried them both wired (xbox controller) and bluetooth-ly. No discernible difference in any audio quality, not that I confess to being an audiophile by any means.

Bluetooth distance was way more than acceptable, I was 2 x 30cm (12" for the Americans) brick walls away - around 8-9 metres - before sound started breaking up. I wondered why the sound was breaking up and then I realised I'd left my phone 2 rooms away. Pretty good in anyone's book.

The box was reassuringly heavy when I received it, opening up the box and the semi-hard case supplied (contains 3.5-3.5 and USB charging cables in a neat little mesh pocket) is a great bonus. I also really like the little loop that is used to grab and unzip. means I can easily use a little carabiner and hook them onto a rucksack - great when travelling.

I also really like the fact that L and R are labelled into the headphones in great big letters. Maybe a small thing to some, but we've all spent ages trying to read a really small letter to see which side is which right? I don't need to reach for my reading glasses to figure this out now. Again, small touches that go a long way.

Sound wise, really happy. I listen to mostly heavy rock, but have tried with a few acoustic tracks. Shinedown's cover of Simple Man was fabulous! so clear.. Heavier stuff, again fab. No issues to report at all. One of the reviews I read on Amazon US was that the buyer would have been happy with them at $150. I agree, didn't think I'd be so impressed with such a small cost. I hate using the word cheap, as it has all sorts of implications. These are anything but - definitely on the more premium end of the scale. the hinges for when you fold them up into the case appear to be aluminium. I can see these lasting a long time.

Only negative I can find so far is that the ear hole is a little small. But I have pretty big ears! and the memory foam means it just molds to shape anyway - same goes for glasses, wearing my reading glasses with these on was no issue. I couldn't really notice anything pressing in.

All in all, a great bit of kit - well happy for the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great, Excellent Value

I have had the headphones for over a week now and so far so good.

Sound
These sound great better then the in-ear Sennheiser I have, I have also tried the hands-free calling on the headphones in Bluetooth mode and the sound is excellent and everyone can hear me clearly. The sound when playing back music is great with aptX detected on my Sony Xperia XZ with no eq enabled and highs/mids/bass is well balanced and no distortion.

Comfort
The headphone have a nice foam feeling to them and fits over my ears perfectly and I also wear glasses and they don't push the frames into my head, they also have an adjustment to make them fit larger heads.

Other Info
They seem to have great battery life I have only charged them once since having them so I cant tell you exactly when they will need to be charged or how long they will last but it seems the battery life is long.
I have tested the range of the headphones by putting the phone down in the living room and walked around the house and no dropouts or anything (Two Bedroom House). I have used the included corded cable and that works as expected it comes with a button (Play/Pause, Google Assistant) and mic on the cable. It comes in a nice travel case to keep them safe whilst travelling around on stuffing into a bag.

Verdict
I would highly recommend these at this price point as it has the option to be also wired if the battery runs out, And the sound alone comparable to expensive headphones.
