I use this to keep my yarn in one place when I'm working on a project. I pull the cinch around the opening so that the yarn skein stays inside and I can pull out enough yarn to work several rows. I looked at yarn bowls, but they are way more expensive than this alternative. However, some of my longer needles slip out of the bag when storing the project to work on later because there is one strap rather than two opposing straps and the bag tilts when carrying, making it easier for knitting needles to slip out of the bag. The good part is it is so lightweight and easy to carry along in the car so I work on a project on long trips. I also like the cute sheep print in blue and white. A wider choice of fabric prints would be nice.

This is perfectly sized for making a sweater or something similar with multiple colors. I have two cats that somehow defeat every single method I try to keep my yarn clean, intact, and without cat fur. With this, I just hang it from the fat, wooden arm of my 70s grandma chair (Yes, the ugly Ethan Allen ones with the country floral scenes) and they haven't been able to get into it yet. The yarn flows easily out the top and it doesn't collapse or tangle the yarn and it's easy to open and tuck the whole project into the top and retighten the drawstring. This probably won't work well on a padded, round armed easy chair, but if the arm is flat on the top it's amazing. No more 5% cat fiber yarn or chewed through spots that you won't notice until it's at your fingertips. Definitely recommend this bag.
