Great phone so far, but do some prep first. GREAT value.

This is my 5th Motorola phone. So far (after only 5 days ), I have really enjoyed having it. It is not significantly bigger than the phone I replaced (Moto Turbo Droid). As always, the new phone speed amazes me. There are things to do BEFORE you activate it that will make your life easier. It you are a bit techie and have good reading vision, you should be ok.
1. Save all the pictures and videos on the phone you are replacing somewhere else, like Amazon Cloud.
2. Consider taking the old and new phones to your cellular retail store to activate. I did not and as a result spent hours moving stuff over.
3. If you use Android Auto after market (I have a Kenwood) it may not work without a firmware update which I have not yet completed.
4.You will need a Nano Sims card. I was able to move mine from my old phone to the new one.
5. The Sims card/SD card slot jammed. It would not release until I used and open paper clip. There seemed to be a tiny gasket that was in the wrong place. When the paper clip was inserted and removed it pulled the gasket back into place, and we were able to pop out the tray and move the sims card. I think the whole problem was user error.
6. If you are going to add a micro SD card, have it on hand, so you only have to open the tray once time. The SD card and Sims card go into the same tray.
7. I have Verizon. I used Chat to activate the phone. If I had know it was ok to move my sims card from my old phone to the new phone ahead of time it would have saved me three hours of chat time. BUT, once you do that, your old phone can Wifi and Bluetooth but that is it. I recommend you move what you want to have on the new phone somewhere that you can access.
8. I lost my old text messages on the old phone. I was using an app instead of Verizon's message. I do not know it that would happen if I had been using the stock text message. I can still access them on Verizon online.
9. IGNORE the poster who said an Amazon phone would be dangerous in the car. You can set your start up on this just like any other phone. I just moved the Amazon items to another screen.

I wasn't sure what to expect has I have been a pretty loyal user of Samsung smartphones but I am really impressed with the moto g6. I love that it didn't come with a ton of pre-installed apps. If you are a google and amazon user, this is the perfect phone for you. The screen quality is great. The camera has a slight delay it's not very noticeable. The phone fits well in my hand and is a nice weight. All in all, I'm really impressed and excited.

I absolutely love this phone. I switched to this after being a Samsung Galaxy user for the last 5 years (S5 then S7). This time I wanted an Android phone with a lot of storage space that would work without the hefty price tag. All reviews pointed to the Moto g6, and I am so glad I bought it! Like with any new phone, the buttons being in different places is taking some getting used to (The back button and app buttons are switched around compared to the galaxy), but this phone is really amazing. I stream a LOT of movies and music on my phones, and the image quality of the screen is suberb, as well as the audio quality. Even linking the bluetooth with my car, the volume capability is so much louder than I had with my old Samsung. Friends have commented that my voice is much clearer when I make phone calls, and considering the lower price tag, I was suprised at how fast the phone works- my old Samsung would constanly freeze up on me as it got older. There are a lot of little things I like about it too (such as apps being put in alphabetical order automatically, not having a bunch of pre-installed apps running and using up my battery). The battery life is also really great, it lasted 2 full days on one charge with moderate use. Also, the camera is much better than I expected for a 'budget' phone- the quality so far is crystal clear, except in low interior lighting (which was the same flaw with my Galaxies)
If you are looking for a smartphone that can run with the big name brands like Pixel, iPhone, Galaxy, or Note, while costing les than half the price, this is the phone for you! And obviously, it's even cheaper if you go with a lower GB storage than me :)

I've been a fan of the Moto G series since it originally launched. They've always been great phones for those who aren't interested in the bells and whistles and just want a phone that will perform great out of the box. This generation is no exception, and I know I've owned ever gen except the 5th since it came out after I got my G4 Plus 64gb. The glossy back is this lovely dark almost velvety blue glass that makes it the best looking Moto G yet.The performance is great and the build quality is exceptional for a phone under $400. Is it the fastest processor? No, but it's running a vanilla android 8.0 rom so it doesn't matter. You don't need the biggest E-peen out there in a phone. The best part of it is the fact you disable almost all the amazon apps you don't use so they don't clutter your app drawer. Honestly I thoroughly thrilled with this phone and I can't wait for my new Ringke case to come in for it.

Should be a good travel companion on project fi

Good ram & storage on the 4/64. Popped in a 128gb microsd and a project Fi sim and all is good. No negatives yet for me. Mine grabbed a Sprint signal but with Fi will be versatile.
