1. It has an ambient light sensor on it, so it goes dark when it's night, and gets bright when it's light.(I have a lamp next to it, and that does not trigger the screen to go bright)
2. For the size, 2560x1440 still looks just as good as it did on my 27" monitor.
3. There is a hole in the stand, close to where the cables plug in, making it easy to hide all of your cables.
4. My Xbox one x can now run up to 120hz, thanks to the freesync 2 on this baby.
5. Has a USB-C port on in, which if you own any of the new cards, one cable can do it all, audio, video, and data tranfer to the two usb ports at the bottom of the monitor. (Also see cons section)
Cons are as followed:
1. The displayport cable, is mini dp, to dp, which most people I know don't use.(Wish it come with the normal dp, or both)
2. It's hard to get to the ports on the bottom of the monitor, as the stand does not allow for height adjustment.
3. The USB-C port only allows up to 120mz, with a lower transfer rate to the 2 usb ports on the bottom of the monitor, as well as it only comes with a 3' usb-c to usb-c cable, so if your wanting to use that method, you will need to buy a longer one, if your computer is not close enough to the monitor.
4. It does not come with the ability to mount via vesa mount, you have to buy that separately.
All in all though, with the cons not being the end of the world, this is a great monitor at both size, resolution, new features, such as usb-c, freesync 2, and this monitor also works with G-Sync. The thin bezel, and the 1800R curve, make this a top monitor in it's price range. Rather your planing on hooking up gaming systems(you will need either speakers, or a wired headset with a 3.5mm connection) or a pc, this is the monitor to get.

I have noticed that display does adjust on it's own when the amount of light changes which is a good thing for my aging eyes. It seems to be a well built display and the stand is very solid. It looks great as well.
The only thing I haven't been able to figure out is how to get all the finger-prints cleaned off. That's my bad for getting them on it especially around the edges. However when it's turned on I don't see them so much. The installation instructions could be clearer but I won't take any points away from it for that.
I like this thing. Takes a minute to get used to the curvature but does not distract from experience. Monitor is very adjustable to get your head centered in the middle.
You will NOT get 144hz with HDMI. You will get 120hz with HDMI. 144hz is for display port, but my PC boot up will not display post on the monitor while using it. I have not investigated this. I can see my bios post screen with HDMI without issue.
Brightness, color, most all I need from this monitor is very good at displaying it. I got it specifically for gaming and does not disappoint. PC great. Resolution crisp. Slight focus blur at right and left sides when I got it, but seem to have cleared up. Would not have expected this to need burn in like old CRT monitors.
However, it's 2k. Being 2K, most all consoles will be fine. However, if you are on Roku, Firestick etc... some apps won't recognize the 2k and will revert to 1080p while streaming. But my 4k TV same apps and they stream 4k when available. This is not a problem for me as PC is more for browsing and gaming. Then I'll head to 4K TV for streaming in the other room.
I will definitely buy another BenQ. To me, it is worth it. But, I would spend extra money for the 4K
I measured this panel with test tools both physical and software and brightness hit about 450 nits. So given that its VA with 3000:1 contrast ratio and can hit that peak, its great for HDR that you wanna see without burning your retinas.
The only cons are the "auto brightness" should be a shortcut button, and SDR video in HDR mode has dithering in deep blacks, but that is normal and its not much of a "sacrifice" when compared to the always-on HDR. It enhances games as well. Oh and no vesa mount Ive been waiting almost a month for mine!
PS: Set VRR range in CRU to min 40 (vs 24) in top section (read closely) to make it work properly with gsync.
UPDATE 2.0 so Amazon sent me another one because amazon is awesome, took out of the box hooked it up and bam! Those blotches or backscreen glows are close to non existent. I must have gotten just a bad screen. I’m 100% happy with my monitor now. Just bummed they don’t have speakers. It I’m never going to use them anyways.

The promise of HDR on this monitor is kind of empty in that it can't reach a constant level of brightnes to really give you what you think you would get for HDR. If really high quality HDR is a MUST for you then this isn't the monitor to buy. It is not a deal breaker for me and everything else about this monitor kicks ass.
I just might sell my Ultrawide version and grab 2 more of these....might need a bigger desk though....
- Price isn't bad for the size
- High refresh rate
- Minimal design and slim bezels
Cons:
- Horrible backlight bleeds; the worst I've experienced on a curved monitor
- VA panel they've used has very poor reds...most colours are overly saturated; I'm not a graphics professional but even for regular web browsing and gaming the colour profile is distracting; even after calibration the delta levels were way off
- USB C power delivery is lacking to the point where it's useless...connecting it to my Surface Pro 7, it was acting more as a trickle charger and the battery still drains through normal usage
- No VESA support; yes there is another mount you can buy but that is out of stock and very hard to get a hold of...don't understand why BenQ didn't want to just add four holes in the back for vesa support as even some of the most budget monitors come with it as standard now
Picture quality is fantastic, not one dead pixel, no freesync 2 issues, g sync is enabled with my gtx 1070.
Destiny 2 looks fantastic on HDR, Black Desert remastered as well. Ps4 Pro games look great.
One small issue I have is there is a small amount of backlight bleed, only noticeable during widescreen videos, load transitions from games. At first I was concerned if it would affect Star Citizen, but the bleeding wasn't noticeable at all during play.
I'll more than likely purchase another, in the near future.
It's a great monitor!
Edit: Got a refund, which is appreciated. I like the panel a lot, but maybe it's fragile or something. Either way I appreciate the refund.
