Engaging plot along with very appealing characters

In this delightful story about two strangers agreeing to an unusual arrangement, there are lots of interesting situations and several encounters that are heated with desire. Kim Loraine gives enough information about the main characters to let me know some important background facts, and the storyline of a couple’s feelings for one another taking an unforeseen turn is enchantingly carried out with believability.

Shortly after arriving in Manhattan for a reunion, Charity Baker loses her suitcase and all her cash. Having to rely on the generosity of her hotel’s owner until the situation is resolved, she is surprised when Lincoln Harper makes a shocking proposal to her. If she wants, he will be her date for the reunion that she was going to attend alone. In turn, she will be his pretend fiancée to keep his relatives from pestering him at an upcoming wedding ceremony. What happens after she agrees is very unexpected.

Since both views are told throughout the story, I could understand why Charity and Lincoln responded as they did to certain events. There is a connection from the moment they meet, and I enjoyed seeing how this bond changed as they experienced a variety of situations. Although the romance moves along quickly, I never questioned whether the circumstances could really occur because of the author’s entertaining way of writing. THE VIRGIN’S FAKE FIANCE has an engaging plot along with very appealing characters.

It's a shame more wasn't done with this story. Instead of just 61 pages there could have been more.
Rather than falling in love after just two nights, it could have developed over the week. Their feelings getting more entwined while at this wedding that the deal was initially made for!! Whether they managed to fool the family at the beginning of being called out on it, then she could have tried running from him!!
There's just too much of a missed opportunity that I'm starting to notice with this writer.
I rather foolishly bought several books from this author, as well as the audible, not looking as to how many pages there actually are. These are not what I call novels, they're novellas, and we're being charged roughly the same as many actual novels of 300+ pages!!
I do think it's a shame though as so far each "novel" I've read by Kim, have had such promise, if she'd taken the time to really sit and write them into actual novels!! I'm always left feeling cheated and wanting more from them!!
As far as recommending, I'd say yes if you want to be left wanting too, but more importantly is say yes if you get it on KU and that way all you're looking is an hour, roughly, of your time.

Personally I prefer a longer story with more details and a romance that's a little more drawn out (doubt of feelings, sexy glances across the room, love or lust debate ect). It's exactly what it claims to be however and I especially loved the epilogue - that was no doubt my favorite part of the story.
