Complete Kit for Gaggia Classic, Baby espresso machines. IMS Competition Series, Precision Shower Screen: Integrated membrane with 200 µm filtering capacity. Polished, easy to clean, less adhesive to coffee, much more consistent water flow. Brass Shower Holder has a better heat retention than original aluminium one, it is more resistant to limescale and lasts clean longer. Cafelat Silicone Gasket - softer than a rubber one, doesn't harden with time and doesn't smell. Food grade silicone is odorless and tasteless. Fits Gaggia Coffee, Classic Coffee, Carezza, all old and new Baby, Baby Class, New Baby, Gaggia Espresso, Tebe, and Paros Gaggia. Also fits KitchenAid Pro Line Series Espresso Maker with Dual Independent Boilers. The brass part is made from material CW510L. It conforms with the requirements for USA market with limits placed on lead for materials in contact with water for human consumption. Its NSF372 certification is a guarantee of compliance with American standards. In 2011, Federal Safe Drinking Water Act determined that “lead-free” brass has to have maximum weighted lead content of 0.25% on the wetted surface of plumbing products. The material that have been used in this kit - CW510L contains only ≤0.2 % of lead (Pb). Thus, Yes - this is a "lead free" brass. I have a 15 yr old Gaggia Classic and wanted to replace the corroded shower screen holder. This "tune-up kit" is a great price, the IMS screen is very pretty, and I already use and like the Cafelat silicone gasket. It all fit beautifully and looked great. But I got large divots and channeling at specific spots on the puck every time, regardless of coffee, dose, tamp. I tried every experiment I could think of: screw tightness, old screen, portafilter rotation, reinstall holder, but only changing back to the original shower holder solved the problem. I don't really understand, 6 holes seems like it should be better than 4, but I do note that the back of the 6-hole screen holder has a narrow, deep channel, much different from the shallower and wider water path in the original Gaggia part. Your experience may vary, but I've since seen several similar reports online.

2022 Update - got around to replacing entire boiler. No channeling now. Bottom line, "Tune Up Kit" can't fix everything! So full stars to be fair.

I've owned a 2014 version of the Gaggia Classic for about a year or two, which I purchased used on eBay. I am a professional barista, so I know my way around an espresso machine, and my shots on the Gaggia Classic have been good sometimes, but also sometimes off. I thought that installing this kit would help, and oh boy did it ever. It was very easy to install, as there are videos on YouTube of people installing similar items to help. The products are of very good quality, and I immediately noticed an improvement in water dispersion from the shower screen. I pulled three shots yesterday and two today and all were very nice. My next improvement on my machine will be tweaking the pressure down to 9 bar and purchasing a bottomless portafilter, but the improvements this kit has made might
end up being be the best of all.

As soon as I switched the original parts out with this kit, I got channeling in the same spot every single time when it wasn't and issue before. Swapping out the brass holder for the original solved the problem immediately though. I think the smaller holes for the water on the brass holder are creating too much pressure in one spot or just not distributing it enough. The shower screen itself seems fine, but I will not be using the new holder.

I bougt and installed two of these on my machines and they both have the same issue. Between the shower screen and the shower screen holder, something is not quite right. The water mainly comes out around the edges of the shower screen rather than through the holes in the screen as intended. It still makes expresso but it's not what I would consider an improvement. I will be sticking to stock parts for now.

Yes! OK so here’s the deal. The brass shower screen holder is the big upgrade here. It retains heat better than the stock cast aluminum piece, which definitely makes a difference in your shots. The screen does as well. I’ve had no channeling In my pucks since this upgrade. The blue silicon gasket... meh. It’s too squishy and doesn’t seal as well as a dense rubber gasket will. I tried to measure my group head pressure and with the blue ring and it won’t seal. Water pours down the sides of the portafilter. Also, when the portafilter is in the group head tight, my portafilter handle pointed to 4 o’clock with the blue gasket. So I got a genuine Gaggia gasket instead, which seals perfectly, with the handle at about 6:30. Also important to know is that the side with the rounded edges goes up into the group head, regardless of which gasket you use.
Anyway, even just the brass shower screen holder and shower screen together are worth the price and would cost more when purchased separately, so definitely recommended!

I bit the bullet, hoping that the negative reviews were incorrect or that my experience would be better. It wasn't.

1. Looks great. Solid brass build. Shower screen is high quality.
2. Brass Holder expands when hot. So there is interference when inserting portafilter. I have vst baskets, and even though they have a wider internal diameter than stock, the brass holder will interfere and scratch when removing or inserting after the machine has been on >30 min.
3. Original shower holder has 4 large holes and brass has 6. These don't seem to help because the output of water is at the edge of one side. Upon first install it would have a stream on one side. Over time it simply has moved around.
4. Shower screen is not fully saturated with water when installed with brass holder. So only some areas get water and others don't. This could be different with portafilter installed. But in comparison to oem, the shower screen with brass does not perform well.

Overall: returning as this is not a good upgrade and may be a downgrade if you're looking to simply maintain the machine. Might still order just the IMS screen.

Cannot speak about gasket, as my machine is new.

Ich habe das Kit vor 2 Monaten gekauft und es nun schon länger im Gebrauch. Erstmal muss man sagen, dass das schon einen deutlichen Einfluss auf den Espresso hat. Obwohl er mir direkt besser vorkam musste ich mich erstmal ein paar Tage daran gewöhnen. Alles in allem würde ich es jedem empfehlen der seinen Espresso in der Gaggia nochmal auf das nächste Level bringen möchte. Für mein empfinden ist das Ergebnis deutlich runder als zuvor Ich hätte mir allerdings eine Anleitung gewünscht. Es ist im Nachhinein zwar offensichtlich gewesen wo der Silikonring hin muss es hat mich aber doch einiges an Überwindung gekostet den originalen Ring mit dem Schraubenzieher herauszudrücken.
