Make sure the door is clean before start.

We have two huge iron front french doors. Unfortunately, our house was framed by less than skilled framers who seemed to spend more time swilling beer (judging by the cans I found on the property) then using a any kind of measuring tools. this left us with one door that has a good-sized gap underneath. In my neck of the woods we have scorpions. Fun. So I ordered one of these and installed it in seconds. BTW, don't ever use alcohol to clean an iron door. I did to prepare for the draft stopper and it left a weird white residue I can't clean off. I have paint to touch it up with, but what a pain. Anyway, the color didn't match so I spray painted it with oil rubbed bronze spray paint. Up close you can tell it's not part of the door. But from a standing position, it looks like part of the door. I'm ordering a second for the other door. I'm very pleased.This is an unpaid review. Lately, I've noticed a lot of paid reviews on Amazon. You can tell by clicking on the reviewers name. If they leave 5-30 reviews on a single day over and over, they were paid. I'm a Vine reviewer. Amazon reports anything I get (except food items) as income to the IRS, so I have to pay income taxes. You can bet I'm not going to leave a good review on bad item. But like this item, I also leave reviews that I paid full price for.     Very easy to install. The off white/beige color is fine and not too obvious. I appreciated the hint to warm the adhesive using a hair dryer. It made the glue side very tacky and it stuck on well right away.

    Our apartment is next to the hallway and whenever the exterior door, three flights down, is opened we'd get a whoosh of air through the 1inch gap, very bothersome and affective of our home temperature. This ended right away!

    The only complaint is that the center poly tube is black and noticeable against the outer fabric and our white trim. I wish I had trimmed just the core and not the fabric which would've allowed me to stitch up the excess fabric, effectively covering the opening and avoiding it from sliding out as time/use slacks the fabric. Possibly an overlook in design which can be corrected. Maybe even going so far as to leave excess with a way to close it without the buyer having to figure it out?

    Overall I'm quite satisfied with it. Today is just the first day. If something happens that would want me to add to this review, I'll return.

    I loved how this product didn't need me to get any of my tools out. I did use a blow dryer however, as it's a technique to activate and heat up the adhesive to make it a little more tacky. I used deeToolMan Door Draft Shopper for a temporary replace of our screen door, but eventually I am getting a new screen door and decided that I am actually going to keep it on even with a screen door.
    We've had this product on our door for about three days now. And so far, it works GREAT! I did have another brand up prior to this because this was delivered after, so for about two days I had another door draft, with jumbo Styrofoam like poles that you have to insert into crevices of a "leather" material on each end. It looked really tacky but I was tired of seeing little cockroaches in house, as well as centipedes. When I recieved deeToolMan's door draft, I immediately took off the Styrofoam style draft. As mentioned earlier, I did purchase a total of 6 different door drafts. When I got the original door draft on, that was two days new... I noticed that the material that sits under the door began to rip and had holes in it, assuming from coming in and out of my house frequently. And I noticed at nighttime, little flying cockroaches were getting in, from the gap that the other door draft had lacked.
    Another good thing about this product, is that for measurement-- it's nearly the size of a standard door, so if you don't know what you're doing, when it comees to home improvement, don't worry about it. Installion for deeToolMan is fast and easy!

    One thing I learned about online shopping, especially with hassle free returns is that I buy every single item that I feel might be a good fit. I do this because when it's delivered and you try them all? One is bound to stand out more than others, in this case it was deeToolMan.

    Works exactly as described - installation was easy.

    Only “gotcha” is that you need to be careful attaching the Velcro strip to the door. Velcro (to my surprise) is sharp, and if you run your bare finger quickly and firmly along the Velcro strip, you could get a painful minor cut (well, I did). It wasn’t a big deal, but I wish I’d known or thought about that beforehand, so that’s why I’m mentioning it to you. A single work glove during installation would have done the trick.

    I purchased this product for my garage door home entry (in brown) and for French doors (in white) to manage draft issues. The assembly and installation was very simple and took just 5 minutes to complete. I was concerned about aesthetics. The dee ToolMan Door Draft Stopper blends beautifully with each door, is barely noticeable and is the most elegant and effective way to manage issues with drafts. The adhesive is firm but does not destroy the surface if you need to pull it back and adjust (which I did a few times) and is strong enough to adhere if you do need to readjust / pull off of the surface to reapply unlike other products that I have tried. Overall, this is a terrific product, easy to apply, removes all draft issues and is aesthetically pleasing. I highly recommend.

    I live in a house that was built in the 1920's. Both of my exterior doors have gaps at the bottom. I'm not a fan of bugs and cold/hot air freely coming though. The floor, in front of the door is not level. I've have tried several different products that worked great with the door closed, but once I tried to open the door, it would get stuck (unlevel floor or door, who knows). This product is great b/c it velcro's on along the bottom and the roll is flexible so it adjusts/moves as you open the door. It's made of waterproof/heavy duty martial and heavy duty velcro. It was really easy to cut it down to size with scissors and easy to install! It has worked great for the couples months I've had it. I wish I would of found it sooner. Great Product!

    My elderly mom had an exterior door leaking cold air…. -30 Celsius here in Manitoba. The gap was uneven and it was difficult to replace the sweep due to carpet, location etc. I ordered this on the off chance it might work and the price was right. It worked awesome-stopped all cold air leaks and was able to adjust to the uneven gap. So far has stayed on and seems super solid and well made. I recommend!

    This was a piece of cake to install. Measure width of the door you’re installing it on, cut to length with scissors, place it on the floor where you want it, then press the adhesive side of the Velcro strip against the door.

    There are 3 12” strips of foam you feed into it, which are what keep the drafts out. The initial part of sliding those into the vinyl was the most difficult part, but not too hard at all. That’s OK because the snug fit ensures the foam stays in place. Once I got the foam started in the hole, it slid in easily. The foam makes it easy to trim that to required length as well.

    It’s a nice white. It’s easy to see it’s there when you look directly at it, but doesn’t stand out against my white door where it catches your eye and distracts you.

    You can leave it in place while opening and closing the door. The door I’m using it on is hardwood & area rug. This slides easily across both, and there’s no catching or binding on the transition to the area rug.

    There’s a piece of plastic inside it that pushes it down against the floor to help seal against drafts.

    Can’t speak to the long term durability, but it did stop the noticeable draft coming through the bottom of my door.

    I also like that it installs with Velcro strips, so it’s easy to remove and put back, if needed.

    Would definitely buy another if I needed one.
