This clock is really great. Definitely 5-star for the price.
I use ear plugs to help me fall asleep in due to noises in my apt building. But once asleep I'm really a rock. This has been a great fix.
Pros.
1.) Shaker will wake you up. I put mine first in my pillow case, but later fed the cord around my fitted sheet so it is under my pillow. This works great despite all the mass and damping of my heavy foam pillow and mattress.
2.) Very good adjustment in the back-light level.
3.) Perfect size. Large numbers and dots make it very easy to read. But does not take up excessive space on a shelf or night-stand.
4.) I'm impressed by the GUI and ease of use.
5.) I'm impressed by inclusion of Mon-Fri, Mon-Sun, or Sat-Sun options for the alarm settings.
6.) cord for the shaker is long. Makes it from bed-stand, around headboard, up under matress, back around fitted sheet, and to an location of my choosing under me.
Cons. (matched to numbering above)
1.) Shake function might even be a little too strong. If you have a sleeping sig. other this may still wake them. Still likely to be an improvement over a blaring alarm for the majority of cases. (see design suggestion below)
2.) Not a great quality LCDs. Generally the lights and symbols on my unit are fuzzy. My "PM" dot has a splotch over it. I think the issue may be a quality problem in an intermediate layer in the build of the front panel. Not sure.
Potential design improvements (not sure if the manufacturer reads these but why not try). It would be great to also have a dimmer functionality for the intensity of the bed shaker vibration function. I'm not an EE but I think this shoud be a relatively easy and cheap add on to the unbalanced DC motor set-up, ... A small DC rheostat, another dimmer wheel like the light dimmer, and a slight modification to the casing.
