I wanted to swap-out halogen MR 16 bulbs to LEDs. This transformer worked well. However, I did not realize the MR16, due apparently to lack of space in the base, do not the electronics to dim about more than half. (Lutron has some application data sheets on this topic, such as Note #559.) Other types of LED bulbs may have more capability. After blowing out a dimmer and trying different LED bulbs, I came with this combination:
This transformer which fits into a double switch wall box. A Lutron Diva DVELV-300p dimmer, Phillips LED MR16 6.4W 12V DC bulbs. Make sure the MR16 bulbs you buy are DC, not AC. The Phillips bulbs were equivalent to 35W incandescent but still very bright and bluish (3000K). I used three layers of Light Dims sheeting (white) to get the intensity down, but the a bluish tinge was still there. I added one layer of the lightest orange tint of Alzo gel filters. The result is similar, but not exactly the same as 50W halogens dimmed 3/4ers of the way down. As as noted, the MR16s still do not go all the way off. I'm not totally pleased, but it's acceptable.
This report is just for MR!6s; strip lighting and other bulbs may act differently. If you really want good advice, get to knowledgeable people at a lighting store...which is perhaps what I should have done first.

Ordered, received and installed three of these dimmable drivers for decorative lighting applications. Initial impression of the drivers was neutral. They are not as small as the more expensive DIOD driver and a bit thicker, plus they have a bit of a lag time when switched on or dimmed. Regardless, one of the drivers, installed behind a bathroom mirror and switched with a Lutron 110V Diva, failed within two weeks and after very little use. I replaced the failed driver with a used DIOD driver and was back in business. I immediately initiated a return process through Amazon and was referred to the manufacture’s website. Attempts to contact the seller through their customer service email address resulted in server notifications that no such email address exists. Out of fairness, the other two drivers continue to function in an other application for lighted address signs. Conclusion: You get what you pay for, in this case poor quality and non-existent customer services. Spend the extra money and buy a DIOD.
