Good quality Coconut Oil

Let me start by saying I have used Coconut Oil for at least 10 years and I always used the Parachute brand (I was introduced to this oil when I visited an Indian store in Chicago). I also visited India and purchased the same brand while I was there. Just for reference: I am a black woman with 4C natural hair.

This Happy Belly brand is very comparable in taste, consistency and moisturizing qualities to the other brand I've used for the past 10 years.

If you don't know anything about coconut oil = in cold temps the consistency of the oil is SOLID and in warm temps the consistency is LIQUID. The pictures I included shows the oil softened because my bathroom is warm. I decided to deviate from the other brand because of the price per ounce was cheaper. I recently started using coconut oil on my dog (to keep his coat shiny and as a flea/tick deterrent since the weather is changing) and since I would be going through it more than normal I wanted to get a better priced oil.

When the oil arrived it was rock solid, and the gaping void that many other viewers talked about was true. I didn't take a photo, but it seemed like a lot of the oil was missing from the container. UNTIL, it softened up and I packed it down. I didn't weigh it, but it didn't look like they cheated me out of the product, it just wasn't filled to the brim. (Note: depending on varying temps during shipping, production, etc. the oil can be solid, liquid and back to solid during all of those varying transporting points).

All of that to say, the smell is good. The moisturizing quality is good. I generally only use it on my hair or my dog's coat so I can't really speak to the taste. Compared to the other brand I've used, this is a good quality coconut oil.

Probably the best value for coconut oil you will find. Ive seen small jars in grocery stores for almost the same price. While not an oil of choice for deep frying(too high temps) coconut oil is quite versatile and a much healthier option than vegetable or nut oils. My wife actually likes to use it her hair. Claims it makes it softer. Given that it is soft, it must be true.
