I ordered two of these for my wife and son and these are thick rubber protection and should be good if you drop them, the rubber that attaches the top to the body is kinda flimsy but,I don't see it detaching because there's no cause for wear.Overall this should last a long time with regular opening and closing, there is no protection for the bottom charging port and it will not provide protection from water (neither will you apple case, who would use them in the water anyways ?) Hope this helps anyone looking.Peace
