Pros: it prevents ants and flies from getting into my fermentation jar. Also, it is stainless steel, so using it near sensitive fermenting cultures is safe (steel is hygienic and non reactive). I’ve never shopped for this item before, but the price seemed reasonable. I used it 5 times already and expect to get many more uses out of them.
Cons: the fit of the screw part of the lids is such that it is hard to find a starting point for screwing it on. I’ve resolved this problem by rotating it both ways until I find the twisting groove. Still, this makes me wonder if screw parts are slightly warped. I’ve ran them through the dishwasher only once, the rest of times them were washed by hand.
