Shannon Kaper lives vicariously through the Cozy Mysteries she writes. Shannon loves to bake, especially sourdough bread, much like Abby Wainright in the Comstock Cozy Mystery series. She is also fascinated by ghost towns and the former inhabitants, like Molly Hamilton in the Journals of Silver Shores paranormal cozy mystery series. Mostly, she loves living her life on her small farm in Northern Nevada, where she can hang out with her chickens, ducks, dogs, and cat and spend time in her garden. Currently, Shannon is working on adding new books to each series and will be announcing two new series in early 2022.

This is a great start to a new mystery series. I like all the characters and the setting. There was enough of a mysterious past to make the murder and all the characters interesting. I like that none of the characters did anything stupid like going into dangerous places alone. I will be buying more books in this series.

I don't do book reviews like you keep seeing, as I find that some give too much of the plot away and I personally hate that, as it makes the book not worth reading. I much prefer to take the authors back cover write up as a review as it can either intrigue you enough to read the book of provide you enough information to make you decide that the book is not for you.
My review rules are: The more stars, the more I liked it.
If there are too many typos or errors the less stars I give
If the storyline or plot is poor or contains too many errors, the characters are too weak, the ending lacking something, then the less stars I give.
Simple, uncomplicated and to the point without giving anything away.
