Unsafe fire and safety hazard. Cheap product.

The base is so light, would never trust a light bulb, especially a fluorescent one with mercury in this thing. If this fell off a desk, or toppled over because of how light it is, it could very easil you could start a fire. My iPhone weighs more than it. My iPhone weighs more than it. The bottom is not sealed, there is just a simple foam pad with adhesive that barely holds on attached to the bottom. It is extremely cheap. If you were to have liquid anywhere near thr base this would be a safety concern for electrocution or fire. The bottom is not sealed there is just a simple foam pad with adhesive that barely holds on to the bottom. There is no way the foam could hold more than a couple months and then you would be putting bare wires on to whatever it sits on. In addition, the screw bass was not only chipped but the female socket had been cut in a way that makes the bulb not secure in it. I would highly recommend not purchasing this product for your own safety. Am returning immediately.

The quality is ok for the price but i suggest you get a better one.
CAUTION when using this base, the wires are very thin, looks like 24awg or thiner. I would definitly not use incandescent (the older type of bulbs), cfl or led bulbs over 9 watts.

This bulb base looks nice, very lightweight, but may not stay in place so if you're using an incandescent or CFL bulb do not leave it unattended, or at least put sticky tape on the bottom.By Charlie on August 14, 2022

Super lightweight

This weighs almost nothing, and has a 6' power cord, with the switch in the middle of it. I do like the chrome finish too. It's not fancy, but serves its purpose well. I use it to power my Edison LED bulb, and it works great. For the price, and the need, worth it.
